Alzheimer’s didn’t just take her memory. It took her life. 💔

Yesterday, my dad and I returned to the cemetery to honor my beautiful mother, Clara D. Young. We bought her some fresh flowers and spent time remembering the love, faith, wisdom, and joy she gave our family.

It has been one full year since we lost her to Alzheimer’s disease, but her legacy will live forever.

Our family is not alone. According to the latest finalized CDC data, Alzheimer’s disease claimed 116,022 American lives in 2024 that is more than 300+ mothers, fathers, spouses, siblings, and friends every single day.

Behind every statistic is a person.
Behind every person is a family.
And behind every family is a story that deserves to be heard.

This loss is why we are building something bigger than ourselves.

We are currently finalizing the Clara Cares Memory app to help bridge the gap between families and healthcare providers. Our mission is to make resources and support easier to navigate, normalize the difficult conversations surrounding Alzheimer’s and dementia, and remove the stigma that causes so many families to suffer in silence.

If you are a family member, caregiver, healthcare professional, community leader, or organization impacted by Alzheimer’s or dementia, we invite you to join our upcoming movement. Together, we can help families navigate this journey with greater dignity, compassion, support, and affordability.

One year ago today, on August 28, 2025, my beautiful mother earned her wings. Hearing her sing “Precious Lord” is both comforting and heartbreaking. Mama, I miss you more deeply than words could ever express. Your beautiful voice, love, and spirit will live in my heart forever. Until we meet again. 🕊️💜

Dementia and Alzheimer’s can make families feel overwhelmed, isolated, and unsure where to turn. But no one should have to navigate this journey alone.

Community changes everything. It looks like families sharing what they’ve learned, caregivers finding practical support, healthcare professionals connecting people to trusted resources, and neighbors creating space for honest conversations.

Inspired by my mom Clara D. Young, who cared for so many throughout her lifetime, Clara Cares Memory is building an AI-powered app designed to help bridge the gap between family caregivers and healthcare staff. It will bring trusted resources, education, wellness tools, personalized support navigation, and community connections into one place.

This is about connection: not replacing doctors, nurses, or emergency services. It is about helping people find the support, information, and community they need, when they need it.

What kind of support do you wish you had when caring for someone living with Dementia or Alzheimer’s?

If you’re new here, let me reintroduce myself.

I’m Dr. Charliette Cummings, CEO and founder of Clara Cares Memory. I was born and raised in Dallas, TX specifically in the Pleasant Grove neighborhood, and this mission is deeply personal to me.

My mother, Clara D. Young, passed away last year due to complications from Alzheimer’s Disease. I came up with the concept for Clara Cares Memory inspired by my mother, so no family has to go through what we had to endure.

I have spent more than 20 years in software development and business analysis. Through that experience, I have identified so many gaps in the memory care space: disconnected resources, difficulty navigating care, and a lack of connection between family caregivers and healthcare staff.

This has to change.

I am developing ClaraCaresMemoryai, an AI-powered app designed to help bridge that gap by connecting families with trusted dementia and Alzheimer’s resources, education, wellness tools, and community support.

Our long-term goal is to help bring more affordable memory care and respite care opportunities to the DFW area, including the planned Clara’s House – Pleasant Grove community center in Dallas, with a planned opening in 2027.

I’m looking forward to connecting with families, healthcare professionals, memory care organizations, and community leaders who believe in this mission.

Caregiving should never feel like a solo search through a maze.

In 2026, approximately 7.4 million Americans aged 65+ are living with Alzheimer’s disease. Behind that number are families searching for answers, support, and a place to turn: often while feeling overwhelmed and alone.

Clara Cares Memory is building a revolutionary, more connected way forward.

Our new AI-powered app, ClaraCaresMemoryai, is in development as a one-stop hub for families and caregivers navigating Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. It is designed to bring trusted resources, personalized navigation, education, wellness tools, community connections, and local and online support into one easier-to-use experience.

With the Support Finder, caregivers can discover resources tailored to their needs: helping replace disconnected searching with clearer guidance and meaningful connection.

I came up with the concept for Clara Cares Memory inspired by my mother, Clara D. Young, so no family has to go through what we had to endure.

This mission is inspired by Clara D. Young who cared for so many in her lifetime. Her legacy reminds us that no family should have to face this journey without support.

ClaraCaresMemoryai is not a replacement for medical professionals or emergency services. It is being built to help caregivers feel less alone, less overwhelmed, and more connected to the people and resources that can help.

Save this post, share it with a caregiver, and visit claracaresmemory.com for app updates.

Caregivers, healthcare professionals, churches, nonprofits, and community partners: follow our journey and help us build a stronger circle of care.

Some women leave this world, but they never leave us. ❤️

My mother and both of my grandmothers have passed away, yet their love, wisdom, strength, and sacrifices continue to shape who I am. “Who Blessed You!” is my heartfelt tribute to the remarkable women who helped shape my soul: and a celebration of the legacies they left behind.

This book is for anyone who has ever been nurtured, guided, encouraged, or loved by a woman whose influence still lives in their heart. It is a reminder that the lessons they gave us can continue blessing generations to come.

If your life was shaped by a mother, grandmother, mentor, or another extraordinary woman, I invite you to order your copy of “Who Blessed You!” The link to order is in the comments.

Tag someone whose life was shaped by a remarkable woman. Let’s honor her legacy together. 💛

For too many families, planning for memory care means facing an impossible question: How do we protect our loved one’s safety and dignity without sacrificing our family’s financial stability?

This mission is personal for my family. My mom and dad had to move out of their neighborhood in search of the care my mom needed.

No family should have to leave behind the community they know and love simply because affordable, quality memory care is out of reach.

This mission is inspired by my mom, Clara D. Young, who lost her battle with Alzheimer’s last year.

CareScout/Genworth’s 2025 Cost of Care Survey reports a national median assisted living cost of $6,200 per month: or $74,400 annually. This is assisted living, not a standalone memory-care quote, and actual costs vary by location, provider, and level of care. The financial impact is even greater when families consider unpaid caregiving, time away from work, and the emotional weight of navigating Dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease.

At Clara Cares Memory, we believe compassionate support should be more affordable and accessible: especially for low-income and underserved families.

That is why we are planning to open Clara’s House – Pleasant Grove in Dallas in 2027: a warm, homelike memory care community envisioned to include respite services, caregiver training, a community center, family events, and trusted resources. Clara’s House is expected to bring 21+ jobs to Pleasant Grove. Clara’s House is a future vision: not an open facility: and we are not announcing a specific opening date, rate, or eligibility policy at this time.

This mission is inspired by mama who cared for so many in her lifetime.

It is a promise to build a stronger circle of care for families who deserve support, connection, and hope.

What opportunities are you overlooking because you don’t have time to search for them? 👀

I’m using AI-powered systems to help identify government contracting opportunities for my nonprofit and community-focused initiatives.

AI does not replace strategy, experience, or careful review: but it can help us research more efficiently, uncover possibilities, and organize opportunities we may not have found on our own.

I haven’t recorded the training yet, but I’ll be dropping it inside my Facebook group before the end of the week to show business owners how I’m using AI-powered systems to research government contracts and explore potential opportunities.

The link will also be shared in the group for members who want to sign up and learn more.

This is for education and exploration: not a promise that anyone will qualify for or win a contract. The goal is to help you become more informed, intentional, and strategic in your pursuit of growth.

You’ll have to join the Facebook group to watch the recording and learn more. The group link will be added in the comments.
