For the past 3 years, I've had the privilege of teaching and mentoring youth during Big Thought's Creative Solutions program. Each year, they teach me more than I could ever teach them, and for 7 weeks I watch them grow, mature, laugh, cry and create something they never knew they could accomplish. And for 7 weeks, they are able to BE more than their circumstances. This year, I've facilitated work in both visual arts and performing arts with photography and my program as a part of the stage performance.

I invite you to see the beauty in the culmination of their hard work in a beautiful stage performance and art gallery show. THURSDAY, JULY 28th at 1:00 PM and 7:00 PM, and FRIDAY, JULY 29th at 1:00 PM. I hope to see you there!!

Throughout its over 20-year relationship with Dallas County Juvenile Department,Big Thought’s Creative Solutions program has empowered more than 12,000 youths using the performing and visual arts to instill valuable life stills, including teamwork, decision-making and communication.

My summer photo class has a home at the South Dallas Cultural Center! Their interpretation of the Orishas with a little help from me. Awesome minds!

Today our teenage boys, under the direction of teacher Menketi Rice, produced an Orisha Photo Shoot!
