Ending the year on a high note with the is something I don’t take lightly.

As I begin my second term as Chair, I’m filled with gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility. The DBCC is approaching its 100th year, and the opportunity to help steward an organization with this kind of legacy while preparing it for what’s ahead is truly an honor.

I’m especially grateful for a Board of committed, thoughtful Directors who show up, ask hard questions, and care deeply about the mission. Their leadership, along with our staff's dedication, keeps this organization moving forward with purpose and integrity.

We still have work to do, but we’re doing it together. Strong governance, intentional leadership, and continued advocacy for Black businesses remain central to our direction.

Looking ahead to 2026 with clarity, momentum, and appreciation.

You can learn alot about a woman by looking at her tribe. Each of these beautiful black Queens has poured directly into the woman you see today.

They've watered me when I felt wilted.
They've held me when I felt weak.
They've spoken life into me when I thought I couldn't hear.
They've whispered words of encouragement into my spirit.
They've laughed with me when they didn't know I felt like crying.

They have each have shown up exactly as God intended for them to.

My God! The blessing in realizing you really have all you need and what you have is wonderfully made just for you!

Thank you to Latifah Jackson and University Health System for the invitation to speak this morning on Mastering the Personal Net Worth Statement.

With all the changes to local, state and federal certification programs, preparing vendors for the changing environment is always central to the mission of Lengo Strategic Partners, LLC.

I learned that Latifah had conceptualized a day of preparing vendors for the Bexar County SMWBE Conference (which if you haven't attended you still have time). It's this type of business development that truly makes difference.

Day Two: As if I could've doubted that it would be unbelievable! I had the chance to stand next to giants in media and .

Congressman graced us with a prophetic call to do what needs to be done to preserve our lives!

Congresswoman and the panel of "Innocent & Exonerated" opened our eyes to the continuous barriers faced by those who were as as Obie Anthony said were "framed by the system".
