NEW BOOK RECOMMENDATION
I just finished reading...FINDING MEANING: The Sixth Stage of Grief by David Kessler. Kessler is the world's foremost expert on grief. In this book, he journeys beyond the classic five stages of grief to discover a sixth stage: Meaning.

I was interested in learning how to (1) show up better for those who are hurting and grieving loss and (2) improve my Executive Coaching for those who are grieving the loss of a promotion, the loss of a career dream, etc.

Kessler's book is one of the most beautifully-written, helpful, and "meaningful" books I have ever read.

I am not a grief counselor, but I do help Leaders be better Leaders and accomplish the Goals and Visions they have for themselves and their teams.

LEADERS - I am currently reading LEADERSHIP NOT BY THE BOOK by David Green (Founder/CEO of Hobby Lobby) and Bill High.

A few good nuggets for you:

* If you want to lead well, you must listen to your people and give them the freedom to challenge you. (p134)

* If nobody on your team feels free to challenge you, then you have a huge problem -- and that problem is you. (p137)

* Put trustworthy people in leadership positions, and then give them the authority they need to operate successfully. If you try to micromanage everything, you will fail. (p143)
