A little FLEX for FLEX moment. ✨

Whitney Munro was featured in The Wall Street Journal today in a piece about “microshifting” — structuring the workday in focused chunks, with intentional breaks, so people can do their best work instead of just filling the most hours.

This has been part of FLEX from the beginning.

We believe excellent work comes from trust, clarity, discipline, and knowing how people actually operate. Our clients care about thoughtful strategy, strong ex*****on, clear communication, and deadlines met — not whether every person is working the exact same hours in the exact same way.

Flexibility only works when it is paired with accountability. That is the real point.

So proud to see FLEX included in a national conversation about the future of work.

Your employees are already using AI. Is your organization learning and growing from it?

The strongest AI use cases do not start in a strategy session. They start when someone close to the work finds a better way to solve a real pain point.

A slow process. A repetitive task. A workflow that takes more effort than it needs to.

Our latest Inside AI looks at how organizations can turn employee-led experimentation into shared learning instead of hidden risk.

Can AI have a place in nonprofit fundraising without losing the human touch? That was one of the most important questions Patti Rausch tackled recently on .

Development is built on relationships. It requires listening, trust, judgment, and a real understanding of what motivates people to give.

AI should not replace that. But it can support the work behind the scenes. Used responsibly, AI can help mission-driven organizations:

• Build donor personas
• Test and refine messaging
• Strengthen communication strategy
• Protect sensitive donor data by keeping it out of open AI tools
• Get more out of their own expertise and thinking

The goal is not to make fundraising less human. The goal is to give leaders better tools while keeping people, relationships, and trust at the center.

Most mission-driven organizations are surrounded by opportunities they don’t fully see yet.

Those opportunities often live in the relationships already connected to the work: board members, staff, volunteers, parents, partners, donors, community members, and supporters who care about the mission.

That is what we mean by spheres of influence. And it should not be confused with asking everyone to fundraise.

A strong Spheres of Influence strategy helps organizations understand who can help expand awareness, open doors, build trust, connect families to services, introduce partners, identify volunteers, strengthen advocacy, and bring the mission into new rooms.

Our latest FLEX Insight explains how mission-driven organizations can map and activate those relationships with clarity, purpose, and trust.

Read the full Insight, and reach out to FLEX Partners if your board, staff, or leadership team is ready for a Spheres of Influence workshop.

Is your brand relatable? Approachable? One people would recommend to their family?

You may think you know the answer. But do you have the data to back it up?

Mark Cunningham shares on that virtually every Fortune 500 company uses internal polling and focus groups to understand where their brand stands and also where it needs to go. It's not just for politics or nonprofits. It's for any organization that wants to grow with intention.

A strong legislative launch takes more than a good idea. It takes the right message, the right content, the right timing, and a team that can keep every moving piece aligned.

When a national health policy membership organization prepared to launch major legislation on medical education reform, FLEX managed the campaign from strategy through ex*****on.

We coordinated across the client team, a congressional office, production crews, media partners, digital platforms, and grassroots outreach to help turn the bill launch into a national conversation.

The campaign delivered:

• Nearly 200,000 digital ad impressions
• 18,000+ ad clicks
• 900+ letters sent to Congress by grassroots supporters
• Original video content filmed with the bill’s Sponsor
• A Wall Street Journal op-ed that elevated the issue with national audiences

FLEX served as the central hub, keeping the strategy clear, the timeline moving, and every partner aligned.

We orchestrated a high-impact national campaign against DEI in medical education, coordinating legislation, media, and mobilizing public support.

What if the tools designed to level the playing field end up tilting it instead?

New research shows when a woman and a man submit identical AI-assisted resumes, reviewers judge them very differently. Same content. Same AI use. But a different name at the top — and suddenly her competence is in question.

And it doesn't stop at hiring. Men are 27% more likely to be praised for using AI at work than women. When a man uses AI to prep for a meeting, he's being strategic. When a woman does the same thing, she might be seen as cutting corners.

If that double standard goes unchecked, the AI gap becomes a promotion gap. A pay gap. A leadership gap.

But it doesn't have to.

Leaders have a real opportunity right now to set fair standards, train managers, and build AI cultures where everyone is encouraged and recognized equally.

FLEX’s Founder & CEO Whitney Munro wrote about exactly that. Check out her latest post, "Women and AI: The Newest Glass Ceiling?" below.

AI could deepen workplace gender gaps if women are judged more harshly than men for using the same tools. Leaders must set fair standards now.

Everyone is talking about AI. The better question is whether it is actually helping your organization save time, talent, or money.

On , Patti Rausch, VP of Research and Innovation at NAW, shared a practical way for leaders to think about AI adoption.

You do not need someone chasing every new tool. You need someone focused on ROI.

Start by asking:
Where are we losing time?Where are we creating unnecessary work?Where could AI help us improve a real process?

Then pick one challenge, use the CHIPS framework, and test it.

You do not have to overhaul your entire organization overnight. Start smart, measure what works, and build from there.
