One of the things I enjoy about being a business broker in East Texas is that the job takes me all over our little corner of Texas, and sometimes the stops between appointments are just as good as the meetings themselves.
Business had me in our neighboring community of Hallsville this morning, and you simply can’t make it to Hallsville without a stop at Miss Minnie’s Place.
Breakfast? Done right. Eggs, home fries, biscuits, sausage, gravy and plenty of hot coffee. No fancy presentation needed, just good, old fashioned breakfast like it’s supposed to be.
But the food is only half the experience.
The young lady running the show this morning, I’m not sure if she was Miss Minnie herself or not, was an absolute HOOT. Full of personality, quick with a comeback and more than willing to lovingly put you in your place if you need it. You don’t just get breakfast at Miss Minnie’s, apparently a little verbal abuse comes complimentary with every meal!
And I mean that in the best possible way. Places like this have character, personality and people who make you want to come back.
It wasn’t my first visit to Miss Minnie’s, and it certainly won’t be my last.
Supporting locally owned businesses is something I believe in personally and professionally. Whether I’m working with a business owner in Longview, Hallsville, Tyler or somewhere else across East Texas, I’m always glad to get out, shake some hands, talk business and support the local folks along the way.
