I’m all for smart energy choices, but I’d much rather see solar panels over parking lots than covering good farmland 🌞
🚗 Car parks already take up so much open space, so it makes sense to use them better
🌱 Productive fields matter, especially when more people want to grow and protect local food systems
🅿️ Covered parking can also give people shade, keep cars cooler, and make that space work harder
🌾 I’ve always felt we should be careful about giving up growing space when there are already so many built areas we can use first
🏙️ Rooftops, warehouses, shopping centers, and car parks seem like a much smarter place to start
To me, protecting farmland and using existing developed space better should go hand in hand.
