Professionally, I am a Global Operations Executive, Start-up & Turn Around Specialist, Board Member, Public Speaker and Author with extensive experience in strategic planning and execution, process improvement and optimization, organization design, talent acquisition, and working in diverse industries. I am passionate about helping small and middle market companies set up and implement strategic i

nitiatives and tactics that start up new businesses or turn around failing ones by creating revenue and EBITDA growth. As an author, I recently wrote a book entitled, “Shifting Gears in the Crossroads.” It is my story of what it was like to be an entrepreneur (starting up or turning around six companies) making the transition to helping small to mid-market companies start up and turn around new and existing businesses. Coming soon this fall…

In my personal life, I am known as a husband, dad, father-in-law, grandfather & church small group leader. I have had the honor of loving my wife, Dana, for 30 years. She is the heartbeat of our family and the biggest support in my life. My eldest daughter, Ashlyn, is married to her husband, Jordan. They have been married for 6 years and they have two kids, Charlotte and Thomas. My son, Nate, is a college athlete and scholar student. He will be graduating and entering into a career of his own by December 2025. Aside from my faith, my family is the most important thing to me and the reason why I wake up every day. Involvement in my church is another key pillar of my life. Currently Dana and I are involved in leading one couples group jointly and she leads one for ladies. Serving others is a key part in the foundation of our relationship with God and our marriage. My hope is that with intentional sharing across my platforms, I will be able to help others grow and achieve dreams and goals. I can’t wait to connect with you!

She grows more beautiful every day. Not just outwardly, but in the depth of her heart, her faith, and her strength. She is grace under pressure. She is courage when it would be easier to quit. She is the heartbeat of our family and the steady rhythm behind everything I do.

I often talk about shifting seasons and crossroads. About how the person you choose will determine how you navigate both.

There were many crossroads we walked together. But there were also several I would have never made it through without her because she carried me when I didn’t have the strength to carry myself.

I chose my Dana before my life shift ever began — before the storm, before the uncertainty, before the grinding gears. And when the transition became heavy, God gave me a woman who didn’t let go. Because of her strength and her faith, we didn’t just survive the shift… we came through stronger on the other side.

Your shift matters.
Your crossroads matter.
Choose your faith. Choose your people.
Shift Gears successfully.

We got away this weekend to the North Georgia mountains with family to celebrate my father in law turning 80 🎉

In between the laughter and celebration, I stepped outside the cabin and walked up the hill behind it. I came across a dirt path disappearing into the trees and mountains.

It made me pause.

How many times in life do we stand at crossroads that feel just like that road looked?
Uncertain.
Quiet.
A little intimidating.

In our careers. In ministry. In family life.

Without direction or a process, the future can feel like it is winding deeper into the woods.

But I was reminded of something powerful. The path does not have to feel fearful when it is grounded in faith.

Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the plans I have for you… plans to give you hope and a future.”

That truth changes perspective.

When faith is combined with a roadmap and intentional steps forward, clarity and confidence begin to replace uncertainty.

So if the road ahead of you looks like the one I saw this weekend, do not panic.

Keep walking.
Trust the process.
Stay grounded in faith.

It is always leading somewhere greater.

First of all… don’t laugh at the photo. And do not even think about suggesting Photoshop or AI. That is a 100 percent real, unfiltered moment. 😄

We had the opportunity to get away with family to the mountains of North Georgia this weekend to celebrate my father in law’s 80th birthday. A milestone like that deserves to be slowed down and truly savored.

At one point, my wife and I went on what I can only describe as a “shop until you drop” mission in a small mountain town.

She shopped.
And as the photo clearly proves… I dropped.

Let’s just say we proudly supported the local economy. A wagon full of treasures came home with us.

But beyond the laughs and the luggage, the weekend was about what matters most:

Family.
Faith.
And yes… fitness, which absolutely includes a strategic 20 minute power nap.

Grateful for time away and the reminder that sometimes the best recharge is not found on a calendar. It is found in the mountains, surrounded by the people you love.

As we head into Valentine’s Day, I have been thinking about the F that matters most after "Faith"....Family.

Who is your Valentine this year?

Who do you choose to connect with, invest your time in, and build a life alongside?

For me, it is my Dana.

She is the rock of our family. My strongest support. My biggest encourager. For 31 years she has been my forever Valentine.

We have walked through cross country moves, business startups, raising a family, and serving in ministry together. The victories. The setbacks. The quiet seasons no one sees. Through it all, she has filled my life in ways success never could.

As you head into this weekend, I would challenge you to ask yourself who truly represents family in your life. It does not have to be a spouse. It may be a parent, a child, a mentor, or a lifelong friend.

Invest in your people.
Love your people.
Serve your people.

Balance your ambition with what matters most.

Because money, awards, and titles can impress the world.
But family is what fulfills the heart.

Who is your Valentine?

No one warns you about this part of leadership.

I used to think it was about speed, decisions, and results.

They matter.
But they are not the foundation.

What changed everything for me was simple.

People first. Always.

When people feel respected and trusted, performance follows.

I try to listen.
Not to respond. Just to understand.

Now I measure success differently.

Did the business improve?
Did the people grow?
Was it done the right way?

If yes, the results take care of themselves.

What has leadership experience taught you?

“Comfort chooses the familiar. Courage chooses the shift.”

I’ve been thinking a lot about how change doesn’t always arrive loudly. Sometimes it’s subtle, an inner nudge that says it’s time to shift gears. Comfort can be easy to stay in, but it can also quietly keep us stuck. Choosing the shift doesn’t mean knowing exactly what comes next. It just means trusting yourself enough to take the next step.

You know you need to change.

But how do you know when you’re actually ready to move forward?

Most leaders get stuck in the “waiting for a sign” phase, hoping clarity will magically appear.

It won’t.

Real transformation requires something more concrete: clear exit criteria for each phase of growth.

What does “done” look like in Repositioning?
How do you know you’re ready to Rebuild?
When is it time to re-emerge?

In Shifting Gears in the Crossroads, I introduce the Four Foundational Block Exit Criteria / Progression Table, a practical framework designed to answer two critical questions:
• What is happening in each area of my life during each stage of transformation?
• How do I know when it’s time to progress from one phase to the next?

You can even download both a completed version and a blank template to customize for your own journey.

If you’re waiting for the “right time” to make a move, this framework will help you recognize it and act.

One of the biggest lessons in my book, Shifting Gears in the Crossroads, is learning not to stay stuck.

Change can be scary. Because of that fear, many people stay in the same place long after they know it’s time to move on. But staying stuck doesn’t mean you’re safe, it just means you’re not moving.

Once you realize change is needed, remaining where you are becomes a choice.
So what will you choose?
The comfort of the familiar… or the courage to shift gears at the crossroads?

If you or someone you know is in need of a shift, know this: it’s never too late.
My book, Shifting Gears in the Crossroads, is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Target, and Walmart.

Shifting Gears Monday

We don’t talk about gratitude nearly enough.

As we close out this series, here’s my challenge for the week: slow down and reflect on four core areas of life: Faith, Family, Fitness, and Finances. Sit with the things you’re most thankful for, even the small ones.

Gratitude has a powerful way of changing how we see where we are and where we’re going.

If you feel led, let’s talk in the comments.
What are you thankful for today?

Shifting Gears Monday!! ⚙️

Today we wrap up the last F: Finances.

But this isn’t just about money, it’s about resources.
Time. Energy. Relationships. Tools. Capital.

Finances are simply the dashboard that shows how well you’re stewarding what you’ve been given. When you understand your resources, you stop reacting and start allocating. You make decisions with purpose, not pressure.

Growth doesn’t come from having more. It comes from using what you have better.
And that’s what allows you to shift gears with confidence.

Finish strong. Use wisely. Move forward.
