To all of our incredible locals and the wonderful visitors choosing to spend their Independence Day with us: ๐–๐ž๐ฅ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ž! We love the energy, the celebration, and sharing the beauty of the Moreno Valley with all of you!
However, we need to have a serious chat before the grilling and celebrating begin...
Right now, our forests are bone-dry. Because of the current weather conditions, A single stray ember can spark a wildfire that threatens our valley, our homes, and the beautiful vacation spots you came here to enjoy.

The danger presented by irresponsible behavior such as use of fireworks or tossing cigarette butts is obvious, but something as simple as pulling a vehicle into dry grass to park presents just as great a risk under current conditions.
We want everyone to have an unforgettable, fun, and relaxing holiday weekend. But remember, our department is made up of your neighbors who volunteer their time to protect this area. Please help us keep our community, our wildlife, and your families safe as we all celebrate Independence Day together. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

As of 9:45am, Mon (3/2/26) Hwy 64 at the Palo Flechado Pass remains closed in both directions while crews work to clear an overturned cement truck. Wreckers are en route; but it will take crews some time to remove the vehicle from the roadway. We are not able to give an estimated time for reopening the highway; but we will post an update once new information is available.
