⚠️Recall⚠️ Safety⚠️

WHTM) — The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of more than 120,000 retro-style refrigerators due to a fire hazard.

According to the CPSC, approximately 121,680 Galanz Retro Refrigerators have been recalled because their internal electrical components can short-circuit and ignite, posing a risk of serious injury or death from fire and burn hazards.

To date, the CPSC is aware of 34 reports of fires involving the refrigerators, one of which resulted in a fatality.
The CPSC says these recalled refrigerators were sold at Home Depot stores nationwide and on Amazon from January 2019 to September 2022, for between $330 and $520.

Specifically, the only fridges involved in this recall have date codes ranging from December 2018 through December 2020, along with the following model numbers: BCD-215V-62H, GLR76TRDER, GLR76TBKER, GLR76TBEER or GLR76TWEER.

Moving forward, consumers should unplug and stop using the recalled refrigerators immediately and contact the company, Galanz, to schedule a free in-home repair by a qualified technician. If you have any questions, you can contact Galanz Americas by calling 888-462-0579, emailing [email protected], or by going online.
