Good morning, Facebook I hope you’re gonna have a wonderful day today.
I just wanted to talk a little bit about recognizing a bad client. In our never-ending quest to build our small business in entrepreneurship, we often don’t recognize that every client is not for your business.
These customers are called the “time waster” . These are the people that come in sheep’s clothing, but really are wolves. They have no intentions to acquire your services, but really are just there to “pick your brain”,
They try to gain as much knowledge from you as they can, and lead you on with interactions that are not productive as to when they’re gonna sign the contract or when the project is gonna start.
So here’s some tips:
 1. When engaging with potential new clients, complete a client profile form. This will give you all of the important nuts and bolts of what the potential client is trying to achieve. It doesn’t have to be fancy, but it gives you a guide into whether or not a person knows if they’re at a point where they can get started with a business consultant.
2. Keep the first or second interaction with the client to a limited amount of time. Remember your time has value. It is up to you whether not to charge an initial consult fee for a meeting with a person. So if the person does become a client, just take that initial fee off of the total charge for your service.
3. Friends and family are great and they can be supportive in your entrepreneurship and encouraging you to expand your small business. However this is business. It’s not personal so again. I will keep reiterating your time has value. If potential clients are friends or family members there may be an expectation that your services will be free or less then you would charge someone else. Just think carefully when you mix personal with your business..
So again, keep these tips in mind. Hit me down in the comments and let me know some suggestions and tips that you may have for people starting out with an initial small business.
