Monday night, our Everything from Nothing: Full Circle Quest conversation brought together a room full of people thinking deeply about what sustainability can look like in practice - not just through reduction, but through use, movement, and transformation.

We explored how materials, systems, and ideas already in motion can be reimagined to extend value and create new possibilities.

Our panel shared thoughtful perspectives on how this work is showing up locally, from building more sustainable systems within our community to the everyday choices individuals can make at home. The conversation felt grounded, honest, and shaped by real, lived experiences.

More than anything, it was a reminder that sustainability isn’t one single solution. It’s something we shape together through small decisions, collaboration, and a willingness to think differently about what already exists.

Huge thank you to our speakers: Meg Maloney, Jack Rees, Brett Bogan, and Cassie Austin. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make it such a meaningful evening.

And a special thank you to Waste-Free Dayton for supporting this conversation.

We’re looking forward to continuing the conversation next month as we focus on the trades and their importance in a rapidly changing world.

We’re still reflecting on our first Open Orbit Series: Community Social and Artist Showcase this past Saturday.

It was incredible to see so many people come through the space and connect, explore the artwork, and simply spend time together. What stood out most was how natural it all felt. People moving through the gallery, starting conversations, meeting someone new, or just taking it all in.

Guests enjoyed a spring picnic spread from Today’s Table, along with coffee and refreshments from Blue Sky, while a live lofi set created a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere throughout the space.

That’s exactly what Open Orbit was meant to be.

We’re really grateful for the turnout and for everyone who showed up and contributed to the energy of the day.

A special thank you to Antioch College for hosting, to Izzy from Collab Us for setting the tone with the music, and to Blue Sky Coffee and Today's Table for helping bring this event to life.

We’re excited to continue building on this and can’t wait for the next one.

Sustainability is often framed around reduction, but what happens when we shift the focus toward use, movement, and transformation instead?

Join us for Everything From Nothing: Full Circle Quest on Monday, April 20, an evening centered on curiosity, collaboration, and new ways of thinking about sustainability.

Together, we’ll explore how materials, ideas, and systems already in existence can be reimagined to extend value, reduce waste, and create new possibilities.

Instead of asking what should be eliminated, we’re asking:
What can be transformed?

Join the conversation on April 20th. Register through the link in the comments below.

We’re still reflecting on our time at Founders Fair at Miami University this past Friday!

It was incredible to see so many student founders gathered in one space sharing ideas, showcasing prototypes, and in many cases already running active businesses. The level of thought, effort, and creativity in the room was energizing.

Events like this matter because they create early momentum. They give founders a place to test ideas, build relationships, and start seeing what’s possible when they’re surrounded by others doing the same.

At quantum foam studios, this is exactly the kind of work we care about: supporting people as they build, connect, and move forward.

We’re grateful to have been part of it and excited to see what comes next for all those who attended.

Our first Open Orbit is a laid-back community social centered around art, conversation, and simply spending time together.

Join us at Antioch College in Yellow Springs for a free, come-and-go afternoon featuring a showcase of local artists throughout the gallery space.

There’s no agenda or formal structure, just a welcoming environment where you can explore artwork, grab light refreshments, and connect with others at your own pace.

Come by for a bit or stay the whole time. Everyone is welcome.

The People Behind It | Starting a business comes with a lot of lessons and many of them you can’t fully understand until you’re in it.

Shannon Grauzer and Cortney Ley of Legacy Batting Cages share what they’ve learned so far while opening their first brick-and-mortar location.

From navigating inspections and certifications to choosing the right equipment and responding to community feedback, the process has been a constant learning experience. With support from organizations like SCORE and the Small Business Administration, they’ve been able to work through challenges and continue building.

Their story is a great reminder that growth comes through experience and that every step forward adds to the toolkit.

quantum foam studios is proud to support the Founders Fair at Miami University .

Our work is centered on helping businesses get built by supporting founders with the systems, resources, and connections they need to move toward sustainable growth. We spend a lot of time working alongside people as they figure that out.

That’s why we show up in spaces like Founders Fair.

Bringing student founders together to share ideas, collaborate, and build relationships creates real momentum early, and that momentum matters.

Grateful to support the students and partners making this possible.

The People Behind It | Every business has a starting point and for Legacy Batting Cages, it began with a community need.

After Englewood lost its indoor soccer facility in 2017, families and athletes waited years for its return. Shannon Grauzer and Cortney Ley decided it was time to stop waiting and start building.

What began as a plan to bring indoor soccer back grew into a larger vision for a community sports complex supporting baseball, soccer, pickleball, and more. Legacy Batting Cages was their first step as a way to build relationships, momentum, and opportunity locally.

Their story is a great example of how local leadership can turn loss into growth.

Update: Founders In Motion has been rescheduled to April 13th.

Building something while you’re in school can feel confusing.

Where do you start?
Who do you talk to?
How do you know if an idea is even worth pursuing?

That’s why we’re launching Founders In Motion: Student Series at quantum foam studios.

This is not a lecture.
It’s not a pitch competition.

It’s a space for students who are curious about entrepreneurship — or already building something — to ask real questions and work through real challenges together.

Each session includes:
• a short 5-minute founder topic
• open workshop discussion
• real-time feedback from experienced founders

You can bring an idea, a question, a project you’re working on, or just come to learn.
All stages welcome.

We’re excited to create more spaces for student founders to think out loud, explore ideas, and learn from each other.

What happens when artists and entrepreneurs collaborate?

Yesterday, we hosted Unformed Business Idea Day at Wright State University, which brought together students, artists, and mentors to explore new ideas in a creative and supportive environment.

One of the biggest takeaways was the impact of the artists. Each brought their own style and perspective, helping students express ideas through sketches, music, conversation, encouragement, and experimentation. Some groups challenged ideas from new angles, others focused on motivation and confidence-building, and many worked together to visually shape concepts as they evolved throughout the day.

Artists and mentors shared how rewarding it was to guide conversations without directing outcomes, which allowed students to discover possibilities for themselves. And students told us they felt inspired, encouraged, and comfortable sharing ideas without fear of judgment.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who participated and helped create such a positive experience. The feedback has been overwhelmingly encouraging, and we’re excited to continue building programs like this in the future.

Thank you for being part of the journey.

Special thanks to Wright State University and the Wright State University Raj Soin College of Business
