Did you know that intentionally transferring assets to qualify for Medicaid can lead to a penalty period, making your loved one ineligible during that timeframe? Senior Care Counsel can clarify what counts as a gift under Medicaid and set you up with a dedicated planner to assist. 👇

Each state has a Divestment Penalty Divisor. When applying for Medicaid, the caseworker will total the value of gifts the applicant made, apply the divisor to a calculation, and will determine the length of time the applicant will be ineligible for benefits.
