How has it been 8 years?

8 years in business.

What started as an idea and a lot of determination has turned into relationships, partnerships, growth, challenges, lessons, and a business I am incredibly proud of.

Over the last 8 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside amazing organizations, leaders, and employees across so many industries. I’ve sat in board rooms, manufacturing plants, grocery stores, breweries, warehouses, and job sites helping businesses navigate the people side of business.

I’ve learned that HR is never just about policies and compliance. It’s about people. It’s about building trust, solving problems, creating structure, supporting growth, and sometimes simply being willing to jump in and help wherever needed.

To every client that trusted me, referred me, challenged me, supported me, and allowed me to become part of your team…thank you.

And to everyone who has supported Easy Button Employee Relations over the years, whether you’ve been here since the beginning or just recently connected with me, I appreciate you more than you know.

Most HR problems do not start as major issues.

They start as “small things” people hope will fix themselves.

Repeated complaints. Quiet disengagement. Inconsistent rule enforcement. Managers avoiding difficult conversations.

These are not minor issues—they are early warning signs.

The sooner leaders recognize them, the easier they are to address.

The longer they are ignored, the more expensive they become.

Good employee relations starts with paying attention.

Okay—but was it documented?

One of the most common HR mistakes is assuming a verbal conversation is enough. Without written follow-up, there is no clear record of what was discussed, what expectations were set, or what happens next.

Documentation is not about being harsh.

It is about clarity, consistency, and protection for everyone involved.

If it matters enough to address, it matters enough to document.
