Built for the people who show up when it matters most.

Aurora Fire Station 9 is a brand-new 12,684-square-foot facility located at 17200 E. Mexico Ave in Aurora, Colorado, built to replace a station that had been serving the community since 1979. The $9.3 million rebuild was completed in under a year, with the original structure demolished in February 2025 and the new station reopening in March 2026. Designed with future growth in mind, the facility includes apparatus bays, bunk rooms, a community room, decontamination areas, locker rooms, a kitchen, a fitness room, and a day room, giving the crew everything they need to operate at their best. The architect, RS&H, brought the same thoughtful approach they have applied across multiple Aurora fire stations, creating a space that is functional, durable, and built to serve the community for decades to come.

Mark Young Construction is a Frederick, Colorado-based, employee-owned general contracting and construction management firm that has been building across the Front Range and beyond since 1989. With more than 250 employees and licenses in 16 states, MYC has earned a reputation for municipal work, fire stations, schools, and commercial projects, including recognition from ENR Mountain States for their work on Boulder Fire Station No. 3. We had the opportunity to photograph Aurora Fire Station 9 at golden hour, capturing the completed interiors and exteriors as the station prepared to welcome its crew back home.

Thank you to the Mark Young Construction team for including us in this milestone for the Aurora community.

“We stand on the shoulders of those who went before us.” The Susan Stanton Foundation Leadership Academy is making sure the next generation has even taller shoulders to stand on.

Leadership in commercial real estate doesn’t happen by accident. It’s built through mentorship, connection, and opportunities to grow. That’s exactly what the Susan Stanton Foundation Leadership Academy is creating for women across Colorado. Founded in honor of Susan Stanton’s legacy, the organization is dedicated to supporting emerging female leaders through scholarships, mentorship, networking, and leadership development programs that help women navigate and thrive in an industry where representation in leadership still matters deeply.

This recent graduation marks more than the completion of a program. It represents a group of women stepping confidently into leadership roles with stronger networks, sharper skills, and a community behind them. Watching these graduates celebrate months of growth, collaboration, and hard work was a reminder of how important organizations like the Susan Stanton Foundation are for the future of the AEC and commercial real estate industries. Capturing the energy, mentorship, and accomplishment throughout this event was something we were incredibly grateful to sponsor.

A huge thank you to these leaders for allowing us to document such an inspiring milestone and celebrate the next generation of women leaders.

The best in Colorado real estate and land use gathered under one roof, and we were there to capture every moment.

The ULI Colorado 2026 Impact Awards took place on April 2nd at the iconic Seawell Ballroom at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts. The annual awards program recognizes excellence in development, design, and land use, celebrating projects that advance sustainability, innovation, and meaningful community impact across Colorado. Drawing inspiration from the ULI Awards for Excellence, the premier international recognition for land use achievement, this event brings together the people and projects shaping the built environment in our state.

ULI Colorado, a chapter of the Urban Land Institute, has long served as a leading voice for responsible land use and real estate development, connecting industry professionals, public leaders, and community members around a shared mission: to shape the future of the built environment for transformative impact. It was an honor to document this celebration of that mission through event photography. Thank you to the ULI Colorado team for having us along for such a meaningful night.

When your workspace reflects who you are, every corner tells a story worth telling.

Atwell, LLC's Mitchellville, Maryland office is home to a team of consulting, engineering, and construction professionals committed to delivering bold, creative solutions across real estate development, power and renewable energy, and beyond. As a national firm with deep mid-Atlantic roots, Atwell brings technical expertise and a people-first culture to every project they take on. Their Mitchellville location serves as a hub for some of that work, and it was important that their space and the people in it were captured with the same level of intention they bring to their clients.

We had the opportunity to spend a full day inside the Mitchellville office documenting the energy, collaboration, and culture that drives the Atwell team forward. Through office lifestyle photography, we focused on the authentic moments and the environment that make this team exceptional. A genuine thank you to the Atwell team for welcoming us in and trusting us to tell your story.

Three years ago, Shelli Foth stepped into The Unfound Door and quickly became the backbone of how this company operates. As our Operations Principal, she’s the queen of operations, the single source of truth, and the person keeping all of the moving pieces connected behind the scenes. From building systems that help us grow to making sure no detail gets overlooked, Shelli has played a massive role in shaping who we are today.

But what makes Shelli truly irreplaceable goes far beyond operations. She brings confidence when things get chaotic, levity when we need it most, and a sense of humor that keeps this team grounded. She’s an incredible mother, an absolute goofball, and someone who reminds us every day that great companies are built by great people. We genuinely couldn’t do what we do without her, and we’re grateful every single day for everything she brings to this team.

Please join us in giving Shelli Foth a huge shout out and a massive round of applause for an incredible three years. Thank you for the leadership, the laughter, the organization, and the heart you bring to this company every single day. The Unfound Door simply would not be what it is without you.

Three communities. One partner who makes them possible.

Across Prince George's County, Maryland, Atwell has been quietly shaping the places where people live, grow, and put down roots. Timothy Branch in Brandywine is a master-planned residential subdivision spanning hundreds of acres, designed to bring new homes and community infrastructure to one of the region's fastest-growing corridors. Forestville represents Atwell's work in repositioning and revitalizing residential communities, helping breathe new life into existing neighborhoods. Vista Gardens in Lanham adds to the region's growing inventory of thoughtfully designed new construction townhome communities, giving families access to modern living close to the capital.

Atwell is a full-service consulting, engineering, and construction firm that works across real estate and land development, power and energy, and oil and gas. What makes them stand out is the range: they bring the same precision and local expertise to a large-scale residential subdivision as they do to an energy infrastructure project. We had the opportunity to photograph all three of these Maryland communities, capturing the scale, the craft, and the character that goes into each one. It was a meaningful look at how much work goes into building the places people call home.

Thank you to the Atwell team for bringing us along to document this work across the region. We are grateful for the partnership.

Some stories are best told through the work itself, and Atwell's Maryland portfolio is exactly that kind of story.

Atwell is a bold, full-service consulting, engineering, and construction firm with deep roots in real estate and land development across the country. Their Mitchellville, Maryland office serves as a hub for a team that is actively shaping communities throughout the region. From the Timothy Branch development in Brandywine to Vista Gardens West in Lanham and the Forestville Commercial Center in District Heights, Atwell's projects reflect their commitment to thoughtful, high-impact development that responds to the needs of growing communities.

We had the opportunity to spend several days with the Atwell team, capturing lifestyle and project footage across their office and four active project sites throughout Maryland. Our goal was to document not just the spaces themselves, but the people and purpose behind the work. Thank you to Atwell for welcoming us into your world and for trusting us to bring your projects to life on screen.

Larimer Square has always been the heartbeat of Downtown Denver, and the block is as alive as ever.

One of Denver's most iconic stretches of street, Larimer Square has stood at the center of the city's culture, creativity, and community for decades. The historic Victorian buildings, the string lights overhead, and the energy of the people who fill the sidewalks every night have made this block something that Denver keeps coming back to. It is not a trend. It is a fixture.

And the reasons to come are stacking up. Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is there for the scoop you did not know you needed. NADC Burger is serving up something worth crossing town for. Emerald Eye Cocktail Bar has the kind of atmosphere that makes a Tuesday feel like a Saturday. Boa Brewhouse pours cold and pours well. Sway Spa is the reset your week has been asking for. Little Blue Pigeon Bookstore has your next favorite read on the shelf. Coco + Grace Clothing and Milly Rose Jewelry round out a block that genuinely has everything. And these are just a few of the shops, restaurants, and businesses that call Larimer Square home. There is always something new to discover when you make the trip down.

We are proud to be part of this community, right here on Larimer Street. If you find yourself on the square, come find The Unfound Door. We would love to see you.

There is real work happening at Denver Scrap Metal, and we are here to document every bit of it.

Denver Scrap Metal Recycle Center is a locally owned and operated full-service recycling center right here in Denver, Colorado. They buy and recycle all types of scrap metal, cars, tires, and electronics, and they do it with a community-first approach that sets them apart. DSMR was built with a mission to give back, proudly supporting All Brothers in Christ Ministries International, an organization that provides food, clothing, and support to individuals and families in need. This is a business with purpose behind every load they process.

We had the chance to spend a half-day at their York Street yard capturing the energy, the scale, and the people that make it all run. As part of an ongoing monthly content partnership, we are producing video content that brings their operation to life for their audience. Thank you to the Denver Scrap Metal team for having us on the yard and for the work you do for this community.

Some of the most important work happening in a community does not look like work at all. It looks like showing up.

Denver Scrap Metal Recycle Center has built something rare: a business that is genuinely invested in the neighborhood it calls home. Located on Washington Street in Denver, they have expanded their mission well beyond metal recycling by launching a community food pantry that brings fresh produce, pantry staples, and essential food items directly to people who need them. The pantry is a reflection of their belief that taking care of the community is not a side project. It is part of who they are.

We were there to document their February food pantry event through candid event photography, capturing the real moments of connection, generosity, and community that define what Denver Scrap Metal is building. It was a reminder that the most meaningful work often happens outside of business hours. Thank you to the Denver Scrap Metal team for letting us be part of it.
