Ever feel like running your business is like being swallowed whole by a prehistoric shark?
Yeah… same.
That’s me inside the mouth of a replica Megalodon at the Fort Fisher Aquarium (emphasis on replica, because let’s be honest—I wouldn’t last five seconds in open water). I stink at swimming. I even retract at the idea of putting my head underwater. I almost drown as a child and that’s for another post...Please don’t invite me to a next pool party. I like it nice and dry out here thx you.
Back to the topic at hand...It’s the perfect metaphor for entrepreneurship.
You start out excited—ready to help people, make an impact, live your purpose—and then suddenly you’re like,
“Wait… why does it feel like I’m being eaten alive by client calls, tech shenanigans, and self-doubt?”
But note...You were never actually in danger.
You were just in the moment.
When everything feels huge and overwhelming, remember:
→ It’s not a shark. It’s just a season.
→ You can stop thrashing. You’re safe.
→ And sometimes, the best thing you can do is laugh at the chaos instead of letting it consume you. Even if it’s an Mr. Burns evil laugh (yep, that one).
Business will always have Megalodon moments—those times that test your patience, your mindset, and your Wi-Fi connection.
But they also make you resilient, creative, and grounded.
So, tell me—what’s been your Megalodon moment lately? 👇
Let’s normalize the messy middle together.
