Ross Keller Photography

Ross Keller Photography My love for photography began at a young age. As I got older, I realized that what I really enjoy about photography, is the story behind the image.

A photograph is a single moment, in that story, preserved forever. It provok

es thought, sparks a memory, and creates emotion. When I capture a beautiful image of someone, and that image takes them back to that day, that moment, I truly feel as though I am giving that person a gift. Something to be treasured. I started Ross Keller Photography with my wife Mary. Together, we were able to turn my passion into a growing, successful business. It has been a lot of hard work, but there is nothing more rewarding than being able to do what you love! Mary works hard behind the scenes handling a large part of the "business stuff", and is also quite visible during many of my photography jobs - as my second shooter. We would be honored and privileged to document and tell YOUR story! We are available for all special occasions, such as engagements, weddings, mitzvahs...

This post has been a long time coming, one of the last things on my to-do list, in order to finalize the closing of our business. The words are still somewhat hard to say (and type), as owning Ross Keller Photography has been part of our lives for 20 years! It's bittersweet for sure, and it took a bit of convincing (on my part, over the course of a few years), until Ross and I were on the same page. But once he was on-board, we were both certain we made the right decision at the right time, and we have honestly not looked back.

It's funny how life unfolds, and how things happen. We truly "fell into" this business. It was not our plan, and we never really saw it coming. Over the years, we put in a tremendous amount of work, and took the responsibility of what we were doing very seriously. We learned a lot along the way, and we certainly made mistakes. We are proud of what we built, and we know we made a good team, even thought it was not always easy working with your spouse! I am extremely proud of the skills Ross acquired, and the photographer he is, and I know he appreciated the behind-the-scenes work that was my specialty, along with the support I provided him as his second-shooter.

But the best part of all, was meeting and getting to know the most wonderful people, and being invited into their lives for a short period of time. We feel so honored and privileged to have been chosen by YOU! You put your trust in us, and we will be forever grateful for that. If we worked with you during a large event, we thank you for treating us so kindly, making us feel as though we were part of the guest-list, providing the most delicious food to keep us energized during the long day, and inviting us to "put the camera down" for a bit, so we could enjoy the party.

Smaller events were just as important to us, and something that we enjoyed immensely. If you know us, you know how much we love the outdoors, so the casualness of these sessions provided a relaxed and stress-free environment, with little time-constraints, except the setting sun! They also allowed us to be creative and have fun, and gave us time to talk and get to know each other.

Many of you were repeat clients, calling on us time and time again, as life-events happened. This was the ultimate compliment to us! We have watched some of you get engaged, get married, and grow your family! We've seen some of you graduate high school and college, we've spent time with families, and celebrated milestone anniversaries with you. It is these relationships that we will miss most, what kept us going for so long, and made our decision to retire from this business, so difficult.

While each and every one of our clients were important to us, we wanted to give special mention to Mike Souza and Ina Goldschmidt-Souza, our very first wedding clients, and Janet Sofian Adams who chose us to photograph her daughter Laura's Bat Mitzvah, many years ago. Time has flown by! We are so appreciative of the opportunity you gave us all those years ago! It was because of you, that our business grew and thrived, and we thank you for unintentionally getting the ball rolling!

We have been winding down for some time. We photographed our last wedding in December 2024, had a relatively busy 2025 and shot our final event, (a Bat Mitzvah) in October. This parting shot is obviously unprofessional, taken on my TracFone (yes, you read that right!), but it still conveys our emotion and feelings at the end of a long day and career, exactly what a photograph is meant to do. xoxo
