Spotlight Member Shoutout

Today we loved spotlighting Megan Fjetland, Realtor with RE/MAX Real Estate Center.

Megan shared a glimpse into what matters most to her, her family. Her husband Grant, their son who is 11, their daughter who is 9, and their Goldendoodle, Sylvi. They are full of life and clearly the joy of her world.

She also walked us through her buyer’s packet, and it was easy to see why her clients trust her so deeply. Megan works alongside her buyers to create a clear, thoughtful, personalized plan of action that helps them reach their goals with confidence and clarity.

We are grateful to have Megan as part of our BNI community.

Oh my gaaaaaawrsh we are POOPED over here! And our poor fingers have touched WAY too many microfiber towels!! 😰😰😰

BUT.

The place is really coming together. Almost everyone who's been in to help or take a peek has said something along the lines of "It kind of feels like it was always meant to be this way", and to be honest, we agree.

Dustin's shelves shine even more with the more uniform look of adult books. The shelves that were housing them before are now filled with picture books, and their shorter length is much more suited for the long, tippy spines. The book fort absolutely glows in the sunlight in the big window, and the youth books room is colorful and cozy.

We have two more days to get through our inventory count and finish up some of the finer details, and we'll be ready for a mini re-opening on Friday.

We're excited; we've missed you!

BNI Referral Masters Update – Meeting Canceled Today January 13, 2026

Due to the majority of our members being out sick this morning, we’ve made the decision to cancel today’s BNI meeting to allow everyone time to rest and recover.

Health comes first. We’re wishing everyone a smooth and restful recovery, and we’ll look forward to gathering again next Tuesday.

One of the best things about modern solar systems is that they are designed to be durable and low-maintenance. ☀️ Aside from an occasional cleaning (rain usually does the job!) and a periodic check-up to ensure peak efficiency, you can pretty much just set them and forget them. 😎

BNI Referral Masters | January 6 Meeting Recap
This morning’s meeting at The Bank at The Little Book started 2026 with purpose and momentum

We were proud to hear from Amy Landrigan, Executive Director of The Beacon Des Moines, who shared about their powerful work supporting women in crisis through housing, healing, and long term recovery

Amy introduced us to The Beacon’s 26 for Her campaign, a call to action based on a simple truth:
It costs just $26 a day to provide each woman with a safe place to live, trauma informed care, and the supportive services she needs to rebuild

Amy also shared the vision behind The Beacon Village Expansion
They are raising $1.3 million to finish construction on 32 additional affordable housing units
This expansion will give more women a chance to safely transition from crisis to independence with the long term support they need
