Faith & AI Weekly Reflection
This week, I’ve been thinking about something simple but important.
AI is becoming part of our everyday routines. We ask it questions, brainstorm ideas, organize our schedules, and solve problems in minutes that used to take hours. That’s a wonderful gift when it’s used wisely.
But every tool we use shapes our habits.
If AI helps us save time, what are we doing with the time we’ve gained?
My hope is that we invest it in the things that matter most. Spend a little longer talking with your family. Encourage a friend who’s having a difficult week. Serve someone who needs a helping hand. Make space for prayer, reflection, and the quiet moments where God often gives us clarity.
At work, AI can help us become more efficient. That’s exciting. But efficiency isn’t the ultimate goal. The real goal is making a greater impact on the people we serve. Technology can make our jobs easier, but it can never replace compassion, integrity, or the relationships we build with others.
As AI continues to evolve, I believe one of the greatest skills we can develop is discernment. Just because AI can do something doesn’t always mean it should. Wisdom comes from knowing the difference.
I’m grateful for what AI makes possible, but I’m even more grateful for the values that help us use it well.
Shelly’s AI Takeaway
Don’t measure the value of AI by how much time it saves. Measure it by what that extra time allows you to become and who it allows you to bless.
