This was a hard one... maybe because I "like" a lot of movies but don't really love many, but mostly because I'm a mini-series girl!!
So I decided based on comfort, story lines and the ones I find myself watching for fun. No particular order!
1. The Decoy Bride- David Tennant in a PG love story that takes place in the beautifully moody islands of Scotland... yes please!
2. Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris- haven't read the book yet, but if it's better than the movie, then it's a must-read!
Everyone has a dream. Mrs. Harris, a war-time widowed cleaning lady wants to wear a couture Dior dress. Through providential circumstance she is able to save up the money to get to Paris and buy her dress. But is the fashion world all she dreamed it would be?
Mrs. Harris' magnetic personality helps her makes surprising friends along the way to fulfilling her dream, inadvertently changing the course of couture fashion.
However, her adventure doesn't end when she gets home. A truly lovely story of dreaming vs. reality, taking risks, learning lessons and being grateful for what providence gives you.
3. Hunger Games- Katniss Everdeen, a teenage girl that unintentionally (at least at first) pulls at the strings that would unravel a dystopian society.
If believing human life has dignity, and challenging a system that doesn't dignify human life is wrong...I don't want to be right!
4. Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse- 10/10 for creativity and visual interest. 10/10 story elements. Also, super funny and clever! You can never have too many friendly, neighborhood Spidermen!
5. Babe- That pig and the old man get me every time. If you want to see me cry, just cue "That'll do pig, that'll do", and watch the rivers flow.
Also, the artistic elements are just SO timeless and classic. Always a winner in my book!
Which of these movies do you love? Which are your top 5??
