Most teams think recognition is about frequency.
It is not.
Recognition is about authority alignment.
If recognition does not come from a credible source, tied to real contribution, and reinforced consistently, it loses impact.
Simple framework:
• Source — Who is giving the recognition
• Signal — What behavior or outcome is being recognized
• System — How often and how consistently it happens
When all three align, recognition becomes trusted.
When they do not, it becomes noise.
Authority is what turns recognition into influence.
