๐ต This is the only amount sent to Sam. There's an intentional separation of roles: Sam handles all behind-the-scenes workโprocessing, documentation, communicationโso Travis can focus 100% on the craft of deplating.
๐ต About shipping insurance: Your items will be shipped across the country twice. Insurance adjusters require proof of value. Without a purchase invoice or documented evaluation, shipping insurance won't pay out if the worst happens. And they won't pay any higher than can be proven, even if you elect to pay for higher insurance. Only pay for what you can prove!

๐ต Complex Pieces - Waffle Paddles, Gem Pans, Beehive Lids, etc.: +$20-50
๐ณ Complexity varies. Pricing will be based on how difficult it is for the solution to get into nooks & crannies.
๐ณ Waffle paddles are particularly labor-intensive due to intricate patterns and may require multiple soaks. Expect higher pricing at the upper end of complexity range.
๐ต Multi-piece pricing available. The more you send, the better we can work with you on cost.
๐ต First 100 pieces: All pricing locked at current rates. In advance of piece #101, we'll reassess and adjust up if needed or down if possible.

๐ณ Transparent and predictable. You know exactly what you're paying before you ship.
๐ณ Only 1 item can be done at a time. This isn't a lye bath or e-tank where pieces sit for weeks. Active monitoring, temperature control, and frequent scrubbing mean each piece gets individualized attention.
๐ณ Materials are expensive, specialized, and need frequent replenishment. The chemicals aren't easy to source, and professional equipment is too cost-prohibitive for multiple locations. Travis' workshop is the only full setup. Travis works full-time and has a familyโthis is a part-time operation for both of us.
๐ณ We're taking on liability for your iron. Every piece gets the same meticulous care, but we're responsible for safe handling, processing, and return shipping.
๐ณ Most poorly plated iron sells for 30-50% less than black iron equivalents. Our service turns that gap into profit if you're flipping pieces!

๐ต All items must be completely free of oil, seasoning, carbon, and rust before deplating. We ask that you strip your iron beforehand if possible. Travis will drop any piece in lye for 24+ hours at no cost.
๐ณ If additional stripping is required (at our discretion or agreed to beforehand), you'll be contacted: $20 for the first item, $5 each additional.
๐ณ Seasoning is optional, but discouraged!* It adds time and labor to Travis' workload, but we understand the desire to have pieces protected and looking their best. Seasoning is $10/item and includes 2 rounds.
๐ณ *Discouraged because: (1) Travis has his own job, family, and collection. (2) We'd love for you to see your fully deplated iron in all its naked gloryโnothing hidden. (3) Most collectors prefer to do their own final seasoning anyway. (4) Flash rust from a week or two is easily removed by any e-tank that regularly handles decades of heavy rust in 1-2 sessions.

๐ต Coordination Fee is paid upfront and non-refundable, even if you decline deplating services. You receive a quote for services and a Current Value Review for shipping insurance if needed.
๐ต Payment for deplating services are due after you receive the 1st Invoice, which will say ๐ค๐จ๐ข๐ง๐ across the top, and before you want the work to be done, of course. You'll be responsible to pay the 1st half of deplating and shipping.
๐ต You'll get a message from us letting you know the work is complete, some final pictures and the 2nd Invoice, this one saying ๐๐ก๐ฉ๐ข๐๐๐ across the top, with any final charges that were agreed upon, the 2nd half of the deplating, and the return shipping. Due within 7 days of completion notification.
๐ต Late payment:
โ After 30 days with no communication: storage fees may apply
โ After 60 days with no communication: we reserve the right to liquidate your iron to recoup costs
We are NOT a consignment shop. We want your iron back in your hands, but we can't store pieces indefinitely. Just communicate!
