I came across this picture the other day-from my MBA graduation 37 years ago. I had some unrealistic expectations…
While some unexpected and pleasant surprises awaited me.
3 WAYS THAT I WAS SUPER-NAIVE. I thought that:
1. The business world was a meritocracy, at least to a large extent.
2. I could move seamlessly through different positions.
3. I could even move within entirely different parts of the business world. After all, an MBA was the “golden ticket, no?”
3 PLEASANT SURPRISES
1. I became what is known as an “accidental entrepreneur” 12 years ago, and wouldn’t have spent the last years any other way.
2. I could never have imagined the fascinating and diverse people that I’ve met along the way.
3. I’ve been involved in and , areas that I didn’t even know existed 37 years ago!
