On March 13, 2025 U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) introduced the Honey Integrity Act. This legislation protects U.S. honey producers and commercial beekeepers from being undercut by counterfeit foreign honey imports that are found in the honey being sold in American stores today.

On March 14, U.S. Representatives Greg Steube (R-Fla.) and Jimmy Panetta (D-Calif.), joined by Rep. Mike Ezell (R-Miss.) as a cosponsor, introduced the Honey Integrity Act in the house of representatives in order to establish a national standard for protecting the integrity of honey and addressing adulteration (diluting by way of mixing foreign honey and sugar syrups) so that consumers can be confident that their honey is natural and healthy.

Before an appoint this morning I leaned some lattice around my deck to see how it looked. I walked back about 40 feet to my tree line and the tree next to me was roaring with that distinct sound. My first swarm of 2024. I never saw the swarm take flight and would have lost it if I hadn't passed the time checking lattice.
