: It was so good seeing my PhD cohort family. We started this journey back in 2018. I unfortunately and fortunately had to put my doctoral dreams on hold due to the demands of . But trust, my dream may have be deferred, but never denied! Seeing them and hearing their progression in life and school was so good for my soul and I can’t wait to jump back into the saddle and to be officially be called Dr. Lauren Michelle Jackson, PsyD! : In honor of Women’s History Month, we are highlighting Black Women Mental Health Therapists all month long!

Within the United States alone, black clinicians only take up about 4% in the field of psychology. When we say representation matters it is because when we are able to see people who look like us in various fields it allows our brain to realize that these accomplishments are made available to ourselves as well.

These next group of talented black therapists are women I personally admire and are trailblazers in the field of mental health! They give us something to aspire to and also challenge us to think of ways to serve outside of just traditional talk therapy.

Me (screaming to the top of my lungs): IT’S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR ❤️❤️❤️!!!

For those who are new to me or my page, let me be very clear in saying March is my favorite month out the year!

For starters March is my birthday month 🥰 (March 4th to be exact)! Fun Fact: My hometown of Chicago was founded on my birthday as well 🤯. Secondly, I love all things basket basket so the March Madness games will be consuming my television all month long. And last but certainly not least, it’s Women’s History Month 💁🏾‍♀️💕!

If you haven’t noticed, I love all things women, especially empowering the next generation of women leaders.

This month I decided I would highlight 31 amazing women who contributes back to the mental health field specifically as Psychotherapists, Psychologists and Psychiatrists!

Because I absolutely love and feel honored to be apart of these amazing group of clinicians it’s only right we all get a little shine this month 😊.

: So being a full time entrepreneur for the last 3 years has not been the easiest road, but definitely the most rewarding. However finding the right people to hire and bring your vision into life while elevating it too, hands down is the most excruciating part of business at least for me.

I literally pray before each and every interview, that God will reveal to me if that candidate is the right fit for the team environment I’m trying build. I consider to be my baby. And I just wouldn’t allow any ole body to be apart of my baby’s life.

With most of my hires, I literally knocked it out the park. With some I can at least say they showed me holes in my business that would help grow or stretch me as a leader for the better. But this hire right here she is truly God Sent!

I have to thank my home girl for being obedient in sending my way because when I say she has been a God’s Sent to me literally makes me want to shout 🙌🏾!

She is my right hand woman, my encourager, my gather me altogether person and most importantly helps to run the backend of my practice smoothly with such integrity and grace! This is how I know God is REAL. He sends the right people, at the right time to help bring you across the finish line and turn your vision into a reality!

I am still realizing how we are worthy of having the right kind of support show up for us in various ways. They are crucial to our journeys and can turn in to great friends! When discover who those people are, allow them to help you fully so that they can get blessed in the process too!
