One of the hottest areas of the garden has been struggling this summer. Before adding more plants, I added a fresh layer of mulch to help retain moisture, regulate soil temperature, and protect the roots below.

Sometimes the best thing a garden needs isn’t another plant. It’s patience, observation, and good stewardship.

Plant Candy Plant Spotlight

Now this is what I call garden drama.

Crocosmia ‘Lucifer’ is putting on a show in the Tennessee Aquarium Rain Garden with its fiery red blooms and graceful arching stems. Blooming in mid to late summer, this perennial is a magnet for hummingbirds and pollinators while adding height, movement, and vibrant color to the garden.

I love plants that work as hard as they look good, and Crocosmia does both beautifully.

Stop by and see what is blooming; the pollinators certainly have.

This one bouquet I got three different bouquets out of my original Mother's Day bouquet.
As the bud's aged I discarded them and rearranged the vase; as you can see on this video this is my third iteration of the same arrangement. Who said florals don't last?!

5️⃣ Add More Trees – Trees slow down rainfall, reduce runoff, and help the soil absorb more water.

Nature has a way of reminding us perfection isn’t something we force, it’s something we allow. 🌿✨

Visiting the botanical garden in St. Lucia was a beautiful experience seeing the plants we care for daily thriving effortlessly in their natural habitat. It was a reminder that instead of trying to control everything, all we need to do is curate the right environment and let nature do its thing. That’ll preach. 😉
