Sometimes it's not that you don't know what you want.
You want a few things. 😂
You want to grow in your career.
You want time for something you enjoy outside of work.
You want to work on that idea you've been sitting on.
You want to show up for your family.
And somewhere in there, you'd also like a little time where nobody needs anything from you. 😅
The hard part comes when we start treating everything we care about like it needs the same amount of attention right now.
It doesn't.
Something can matter to you and still be a not yet.
Something can stay part of your life without getting five hours a week.
And choosing to focus on one thing right now doesn't mean you're giving up on everything else.
Sometimes that alone takes a little pressure off.
You don't necessarily need fewer interests, goals, or responsibilities.
You may just need to decide:
What gets more of me right now?
What gets a little?
And what can wait?
That's a very different conversation than trying to “balance everything.” 💛

The goal might not be too big. The next step might be.
You can know exactly what you want and still struggle to move it forward.
Not because you don't care.
Sometimes the next step you've given yourself simply doesn't fit the time or capacity you have right now.
“Work on my career change” is a lot.
“Research 3 roles Wednesday night” is something you can actually put on a calendar.
“Grow my business” is a lot.
“Reach out to 2 potential clients this week” gives you somewhere to start.
When something keeps getting pushed to next week, try this:
1. What am I trying to move forward?
2. What time and capacity do I realistically have this week?
3. What's one step that fits inside of that?
You don't necessarily need to make the goal smaller.
Make the next step more doable.

A few months ago, I was talking with someone during a complimentary call who had a few things they were trying to figure out at the same time. They had personal interests they wanted to make room for. They were looking at how much time they actually had available.
And then... a new job offer entered the picture. 😅

So the conversation wasn't just:

“Should I take the job?”

It became:

If I say yes to this, what else changes?

How much time will I realistically have?

What do I still want to make room for?

What might need to happen less often?

What can wait?

That's the part of work and life transitions I think we sometimes miss.
One change can affect a whole lot of other things.
And sometimes you don't need somebody to tell you what decision to make.
You need space to look at the whole picture before you make it.
That's what alignment can look like in real life.
Not everything fitting perfectly.

And that's one of the conversations I'm bringing into September here at TBPW.
💛

Hi! AFITO here and I hope you had a great August whatever it offered and if not thats ok. We are now in September amd there is no place to be then right here. A place to get organized, make a plan and stay accountable to what matters. And keep an eye on this page. I'll be sharing a few ways you can practice and put this month theme into pratice with me including a free community activity, a virtual planning session, and complimentary Monday support if you need help sorting out your own next steps 😀 😊

Had to share this from yesterday. 🌈

After the rain, this beautiful rainbow showed up.

And yes, I definitely stopped what I was doing to take a picture. 😂

Sometimes, you just have to notice the good stuff happening right in front of you.

It's a pretty nice way to close out August and head into a new month.

Happy September, everyone!💛

What are you looking forward to this month?

I came across this question on Reddit:
“How long did it take you to stop waiting for the ‘right time’ to start something?”
A lot of the responses came down to some version of:
There is no right time. Just start. Take the first step.
I agree with some of that.
But I’d add something.
Sometimes you really don’t have the capacity for the whole thing yet.
You may want to change careers, but you still need your current job.
You may want to grow your business, but you only have a few hours a week to give it right now.
You may have been saying, “I’ll get to it when things settle down,” only to realize things haven’t exactly settled down.
So instead of only asking:
“When am I finally going to start?”
Try asking:
“What part of this can move under the conditions I have right now?”
A career change doesn’t have to start with quitting.
It might start with looking at three roles you’re curious about.
A business idea doesn’t have to start with building the whole offer.
It might start with one conversation with someone who needs what you’re considering.
Sometimes the next step isn’t about waiting for more time.
It’s about making the step fit the time and capacity you actually have.

We spend weeks getting the kids ready for back-to-school. 😅
Supplies. Clothes. Hair appointments. Meet-the-teacher nights. Emails, forms, schedules…and somehow there's always one more thing.
Then the first day finally comes.
Backpacks on. Pictures taken. Drop-off done. ✔️
And suddenly, things get a little quieter.
Here's the part we don't always think about:
Back-to-school creates a transition for the adults too.
Your mornings change. Your work hours may shift. Something you put on hold during the summer may finally have room again.
And before that new space automatically gets filled with more things to do, it's worth thinking about what you actually want to return to.
Maybe it's focused work. Your job search. Your business. A personal goal. Or simply a routine that works better for this season.
You don't have to restart everything at once.
Start with what deserves your attention now.
👆 I'm curious what your answer is.
