After one month of Weekly Momentum Sessions, a client’s question changed.

She went from asking, “How do I get through this week?” to asking, “How do I make next month easier?”

I love that shift.

When you’re busy getting through the day, it can be hard to see where you have room to change how the business works. Everything feels like something to handle.

But once you create space to look at the patterns, different questions become available.

“I’ll work on that when things slow down.”

I understand the thinking. We want to give an important project our full attention, so we wait for a quieter week.

But the work of running your business has a way of filling whatever space is available.

Customers need responses. Decisions need to be made. Something unexpected happens. And improving the business gets pushed behind operating it.

Over time, the same friction keeps showing up because we haven’t created a place to work on what’s causing it.

You know what would make your business work better.

The follow-up process you keep meaning to improve. The onboarding emails that need updating. The instructions you’ve explained enough times that they really should be written down somewhere.

None of these things feels especially urgent.

Until a lead slips away. A customer gets confused. Someone asks you the same question again.

And then you’re back to handling the immediate problem, while the improvement that could prevent it waits another week.

We’ve been thinking a lot about Owner Independence lately.

Why?

We want to go to Thailand for a month to visit my family.

Not for a week. A month.

There’s just one small logistical complication: Thailand is 12 hours ahead of our clients here, and I have recurring coaching sessions every week.

So we’re looking at our own business and asking the same kinds of questions we explore with our clients.

Do I take a month away from coaching? Change how sessions work while we’re gone? Temporarily adjust meeting times? Build something different altogether?

I don’t know yet.

But this is exactly why Owner Independence matters to me. It isn’t about building a business that doesn’t need me. It’s about building a business that doesn’t prevent me from doing the things I want to do.

And right now…I want to spend a month in Thailand with my family.
