“Accountability” isn’t about riding your guys 24/7 — it’s about making sure the work gets done right without you babysitting every call.

Let me tell you how I learned this the hard way.

Back when I was still running calls myself, I had one of those weeks from hell. Compressor swap goes sideways, permit delay on a rooftop unit, and of course, a callback on a Friday afternoon for a no-cool we “fixed” two days earlier.

So I start cracking the whip — group texts, random ride-alongs, phone blowing up all day long.

And you know what happened?

Morale tanked. Guys got defensive. Mistakes got *hidden*, not fixed. And I was still the one solving every damn problem.

I’ve seen it a hundred times. Hell, I lived it.
