Three days. One inaugural summit. A whole lot of people who believed in what we were building.

From the conversations around the fire to the connections made at the summit and the experiences shared outdoors, VORS brought together veterans, organizations, and industry leaders who showed up ready to connect, collaborate, and build.

And the people made it what it was.

They didn’t just put their logo on VORS. They helped put veterans in the room.

When NPCA stepped up to support the Veterans Outdoor Recreation Summit, they helped create scholarship access for veterans who otherwise may not have been here.

That matters.

Because the conversations happening this week sit right at the intersection of veterans, recreation, conservation, public lands, and the communities working to make the outdoors more accessible.

And tomorrow, it finally begins.

We’ll gather around a fire at Jordanelle, meet the people behind the names and organizations, and kick off three days built around one idea:

Connect. Collaborate. Build.

The summit is under control. The talking head was not. 😂

A couple weeks ago, we shared the polished version of our COO, Levi, talking VORS operations from the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley.

We kept the rest. 😂

Turns out building the Veterans Outdoor Recreation Summit might be easier than saying a few sentences to a camera.

VORS is officially here this week. The team is ready. The venue is ready.

What started as an idea is happening next week.

The first Veterans Outdoor Recreation Summit.

For months, Trailhead Strategies Group & Building With The Browers has been building toward three days in Park City that bring veterans, outdoor recreation organizations, industry leaders, founders, partners, speakers, and exhibitors together in one place.

We knew what we wanted to create.

A place for veterans to find new ways into the outdoors.

A place for organizations doing the work to find each other.

A place for conversations that might not happen anywhere else.

What we don’t know yet is who is going to meet who.

What conversation turns into a partnership.

What veteran finds an organization or activity they didn’t know existed.

Or what gets started simply because the right people were finally in the same place.

That’s what we get to find out next week.

And there are still 11 seats left.

There’s a reason we’re starting VORS around a fire.

Some of the best conversations happen when there’s no stage, no microphone, and nowhere you need to be except right where you are.

That’s how we want the first Veterans Outdoor Recreation Summit to begin.

Day 1 starts at the Keetley Group Campsite at Jordanelle State Park, where we’ll gather around the fire from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on October 1.

Bring a chair. Bring some wood to throw on the fire.

And if you’re local, bring an extra chair for someone who traveled to Utah to be here. We’ve got veterans coming in from across the country, and we want everyone to have a place around the fire.

If you’re coming to VORS, don’t make Day 2 your first day.
