As part of my morning routine, I skim the NY Times, WSJ, The New Yorker, and the Triangle Business Journal.

Today, a New York Times piece titled “Tuning In” by Melissa Kirsch — caught my attention. It took me right back to my NYC transit commutes, where I was often eager to block out the noise and distractions rather than engage with the environment and community around me.

The piece and illustration reminded me that we all share the same spaces while carrying our own invisible challenges, hopes, and stories. And when we drop our protective habits — the headphones, the scrolling, the instinct to tune everything out — we often discover more connection than we expect.
To put it simply: everyone matters.�Everyone carries a story, a voice, a worry — an entire world we rarely see.

Sometimes all it takes is looking up, noticing the people around us, and remembering that none of us are moving through life alone.

💥 Big Move in the Chip Wars 💥
Nvidia is set to buy a $5B stake in Intel — a surprising twist as the two rivals look to collaborate on AI-driven technology.
This could mean:
🔹 Intel gets a much-needed lifeline in its ongoing struggles.
🔹 Nvidia gains strategic leverage in manufacturing and access to Intel’s fabs.
🔹 The chipmaking landscape could shift from pure rivalry to coopetition — with AI as the driving force.
If executed well, this partnership could accelerate innovation in semiconductors, strengthen supply chains, and reshape how chips powering AI are made.
The question is — will this redefine the balance of power in silicon, or is it just a short-term boost for Intel?

Pharmaceutical manufacturing isn't just about putting up walls and installing equipment—it's about building systems that must work in harmony from day one.

Thinking in systems allows you to recognize that every element, from HVAC layouts to validation protocols, is deeply interconnected. This mindset helps ensure we create facilities that are not only compliant and efficient, but also resilient and ready for the future.

Think of a building a facility like a symphony. You can't focus only on the violin section and expect a masterpiece. The Ups and Downs of Project Management as an Engineer

Project management in engineering is a journey full of challenges, lessons, and the occasional surprise. One day you’re celebrating a successful installation or a perfectly executed design—and the next, you're deep in problem-solving mode, dealing with supply chain delays, scope changes, or last-minute design revisions.

The "ups"?
✅ Seeing a concept turn into a physical system
✅ Solving real-world problems with a team you trust
✅ Hitting major milestones after months of coordination
✅ Learning to lead, adapt, and communicate under pressure

The "downs"?
⚠️ Miscommunication between stakeholders
⚠️ Budget constraints and timeline shifts
⚠️ Technical hurdles that don’t show up until the 11th hour
⚠️ Balancing hands-on engineering with scheduling, logistics, and documentation

As engineers, we’re trained to focus on precision and problem-solving, but project management demands a whole new set of soft skills—leadership, empathy, and flexibility being top among them.

It’s not always easy, but it’s always worth it when a team brings a complex project across the finish line.

To those in the thick of it: keep pushing, keep learning. Every challenge is building a stronger version of you.
