Meet JB - Volunteer Coordinator

JB has a deep passion for volunteerism and enjoys seeing the incredible love, compassion, and dedication that Patriot Hospice volunteers bring to patients and families every day. One of the most rewarding parts of the job is hearing stories of volunteers making a meaningful difference and representing the Volunteer Services Program throughout the community. Whether speaking at VFWs, churches, libraries, health fairs, businesses, or medical centers, JB enjoys connecting with the public and sharing the mission of Patriot Hospice. One particularly memorable volunteer went above and beyond by planting and maintaining a garden for a patient, providing not only fresh vegetables but also an activity the patient could enjoy and participate in when able. Guided by the personal motto "Soli Deo Gloria," meaning "To God alone be the glory," JB is inspired by the selfless service and positive impact volunteers have on the lives of those they serve.

Meet Kathy - Volunteer Coordinator

Kathy is passionate about building connections with patients, families, and caregivers, making her favorite part of the job the opportunity to reassure others that Patriot is here to help ease their burdens and provide support when it is needed most. She believes in fostering a positive, solution-focused approach to both life and work, which is reflected in her favorite quote: "You choose every minute to either be part of the solution or part of the problem." Kathy also brings a unique global perspective to her role, having lived in Wiesbaden, Germany, for four and a half years and traveled to Scotland twice. Her compassion, encouragement, and dedication to serving others help make a meaningful difference in the lives of the patients and families she serves.

Meet Ana - one of our Volunteer Coordinators.

Ana brings a compassionate heart and a genuine passion for serving others to her role with Patriot. Her favorite part of the job is connecting with patients and families and providing support during some of life's most challenging moments. Originally from the Dominican Republic, Ana's strong Christian faith guides her commitment to caring for others with kindness, humility, and empathy. She believes hospice volunteering is a truly meaningful and transformative experience that simply requires a willing heart. Through their compassion and dedication, volunteers become a blessing to patients and families while receiving the same love and gratitude they so generously share. Ana is passionate about helping others discover the rewarding impact volunteering can have on both those served and the volunteers themselves.

Hospice volunteers play a vital role in supporting patients, families, and hospice teams by providing companionship, comfort, and assistance during one of life's most meaningful journeys. Volunteers help enhance quality of life for patients facing a life-limiting illness while offering much-needed support to caregivers and loved ones.

Our amazing Volunteer Coordinators are
responsible for recruiting, training, supporting, and managing volunteers who serve patients and families. They act as the bridge between volunteers, patients, caregivers, and the clinical team to ensure volunteer services are meaningful, compassionate, and compliant with hospice regulations.
