The dough for a batch of Swedish buns is working on its first rise, all tucked in warm and snug, in a bowl on the kitchen counter. My mother got the recipe from her friend, Char Broman, at the married housing barracks at MSU (then MSC) back in the late 40s. Just reading the recipe brings back memories of the 50s when Mother would make a batch and invite the ladies from the neighborhood over for a "coffee klatsch". Can't wait until the sweet buns are done, mid-afternoon. Do you have family recipes that take you back in time and summon sweet memories?

Wish I had a picture of that. What about you? What was your favorite costume or your favorite Halloween memory?
