AXEL Tulee Suomeen!

Tunnettu cleantech alan pioneeri Lassi Noponen on nimitetty AXEL:n hallituksen varapuheenjohtajaksi. AXEL-tiimi tutustui Lassiin hänen asuessaan Los Angelesissa muutamia vuosia sitten. Tuolloin Lassi Noponen työskenteli monien samojen organisaatioiden, kuten Los Angeles Cleantech Incubatorin, kanssa ja tutustui moniin avainhenkilöihin, joiden kanssa myös AXEL tekee yhteistyötä. Los Angeles Cleantech Incubatorin avajaisissa meille avautui mahdollisuus keskustella Los Angelesin pormestarin Eric Garcettin kanssa Yhdysvaltojen 2. suurimman kaupungin kestävän kehityksen tavoitteista, joita sittemmin päivitettiin ja laajennettiin vuonna 2019 Los Angeles Green New Dealissa. Viime vuosien aikana olemme säännöllisesti keskustelleet Lassi Noposen kanssa pohjoismaisten yritysten mahdollisuuksista hyödyntää tätä kunnianhimoista agendaa. Yhdysvalloissa on hiljattain hyväksytty harvinaisella molempien puolueiden tuella sekä merkittävä infrastruktuurilainsäädäntö (Infrastructure Law) että paljon puhuttu inflaation vähentämislaki (Inflation Reduction Act), lisäksi Kalifornian osavaltio on hyväksynyt oman 54 miljardin dollarin ilmasto- ja energiapakettinsa. Yhdysvalloissa tarjolla oleva lainsäädännön ja puhtaiden teknologioiden rahoituksen yhdistelmä on kannustanut AXELia nyt panostamaan tiiviimpään yhteistyöhön Pohjoismaiden ja erityisesti Suomen kanssa.

Euroopan talouden haasteet, Suomen ja Ruotsin tuleva Nato jäsenyys sekä äskettäin hyväksytty Inflation Reduction Act tekevät Yhdysvalloista entistä tärkeämmän markkina-alueen monille pohjoismaisille yrityksille.

AXEL auttaa pohjoismaisia yrityksiä rakentamaan menestyvää liiketoimintaa Yhdysvaltain markkinoilla. Uskomme, että Lassi Noposen hallitusjäsenyyden myötä AXELilla on entistä paremmat valmiudet avustaa suomalaisia yrityksiä menestymään Yhdysvaltain markkinoilla. We Are Growing Our Reach and Growing Our Impact!
We are thrilled to announce that Lassi Noponen, a Finnish business leader with extensive experience in the cleantech sector, will be joining AXEL as Vice Chairman of our Board of Directors. The AXEL team first became acquainted with during the time he was based in Los Angeles a few years ago. Mr. Noponen worked with many of the same organizations, like the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator, and met with some of the people AXEL collaborates with. Meeting with former Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, Mr. Noponen had the opportunity to discuss the sustainability goals of the 2nd-largest city in the U.S., which were updated and expanded in 2019 in the Los Angeles Green New Deal. Since that time, we have had regular discussions with Mr. Noponen about the opportunities for Nordic companies from this ambitious agenda. More recently, the United States has passed both the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act, and the State of California has passed its own $54 billion climate and energy package. The combination of legislation and funding for clean technologies in the U.S. makes this an auspicious important moment for AXEL to engage more frequently and more deeply with the Nordic countries and with Finland in particular.

With the challenges faced by the European economies, the joining of Finland and Sweden to NATO, coupled with the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act, the United States is a more relevant market than ever for Nordic companies. AXEL helps Nordic companies build a successful business in the US market, providing specific expertise in guiding these companies on the best way to achieve their business objectives. We believe AXEL will be better equipped to specifically facilitate the success of Finnish companies in the U.S. market through the advice and the network of Mr. Noponen. We are very pleased that he has accepted our invitation to join our Board of Directors and look forward to work closer with Mr. Noponen.
