Here's another reason why nonprofits are harder to manage than for-profit businesses:
* Donor expectations! Donors create an emotional connection to your nonprofit and instinctively hope that their contribution makes a big difference toward the pursuit of the mission. If NPs don't measure up in the eyes of their donors, the support is withdrawn. Sometimes we don't know what our benefactors expect so we must DEFINE what we consider success and allow them to buy in.
* Business customers have expectations, but they are usually simpler and immediate. Does the food taste good? Does the TV picture look as good in my living room as it did in the store? Not, Is that business using my payment wisely.
