If you own your own horse and would like to participate in the clinic. Beginner to experienced, the clinicians are able to adjust to your skill level.

Another trail ride in the books and this time a student and her aunt joined Reba and me for a stroll through Section 16 in Black Forest on their own horses. Beautiful day, but those deer flies are in full horse buffet season right now. We were prepared with fly spray, but they still wouldn't leave us alone.

Some students prefer to hit the trail rather than compete in gymkhana, so we headed to Homestead Ranch for a ride. We searched out a Geocache too. It's always fun to do those from horseback! I've included a picture of what Remi and Reba call "trail mix snacks".

Honey took her second gymkhana appearance in poles and 75 Up & Back in stride. Totally relaxed the whole ride. Maybe next time we can pick up the pace.

Saturday was a busy day for High Plains Horsemanship at the Kit Carson Riding Club Gymkhana. Reba carried one student through the Drill Team routine and another student through two Walk/Trot classes. Remi built some confidence in the Lead Line class with a student and a friend. Honey, made her gymkhana debut under saddle, but not without some drama. She's still getting use to the energy that comes along with events like these. Everyone stayed safe and I think we all had some fun. Thanks to all those that came out to ride and to support those riding!
