If you've broken down on the Ohio Turnpike, you know the nightmare—stuck on a dangerous shoulder waiting hours for the state's single contracted towing company while a local truck sits idle just miles away.
Here's the frustrating part: commercial vehicles can choose their own tow service, but passenger cars can't. No competition means massive wait times, inflated prices, and zero leverage for stranded drivers.
I started a petition to push the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission toward an open-access system where any certified, insured towing company can help. I'm presenting it at their June 15th meeting and need 500 signatures from Ohio drivers to make them listen.
