Good Morning Glass Shop Friends!
I've spent the last few days making butterflies. HOW COOL IS THAT!?!?
As I was making them, I started wondering about the people who would eventually take them home. I hope they will bring them some joy, a little peace, and maybe even a reminder to slow down every once in a while.
The world gives us enough reasons to hurry and stress.
I hope that every time someone walks past them, they'll pause, smile, and feel at peace.

My work isn't about how many pieces I can sell or how quickly I can sell them. It has always been about so much more than that.

It's about helping make someone's day better, brighter, and bringing a little more peace into their life and this world. If these butterflies can help do that, then they've already done exactly what I hoped they would.

That is what makes me happy. That's why I continue to do what I do.

The True Story of this Sock Monkey with an Identity Crisis
Oh, what this poor girl went through to become her best self.
At conception (when she was just an idea in my head and a pattern on paper), she was supposed to be a he. But when I started looking through my glass for the perfect colors and textures, I realized I didn't have anything that would do him justice.
So... he became a she.
I had some awesome pink glass that would be perfect for her!
As I cut, ground, foiled, and soldered her together, I kept asking myself, Does she really look like a sock monkey?
Then I thought...
Does it really matter? Do I have to put a label on her?
She was adorable just the way she was.
But... she had no eyes.
Still trying to make her look more like a traditional sock monkey, I made little black glass eyes with solder dots so they'd look like buttons.
The moment I put them on, I knew.
Those were NOT her eyes.
She looked flat. She looked sad. I think I could almost see a tear in those button eyes.
I just couldn't leave her that way.
So I started searching for eyes that would bring her to life..........
And then..... ta-da!
I found the eyes she deserved.
Suddenly, she could see clearly. She had personality. She smiled. She became exactly who she was meant to be.
“The moment your vision changes, you begin to step into who you were meant to be.”
Sometimes we spend so much time trying to become someone we think we're supposed to be, when in reality we are simply meant to become ourselves. Every piece I make has a person out there that it's meant for. I know there's someone who will fall in love with her quirky personality and appreciate her for exactly who she is.

Good Morning, Glass Shop Friends! If you know me, you know LOVE beveled glass! Bevels are classic, they never go out of style. They catch the sunshine during the day, but they're even prettier in the evening light. These are my newest bevel pieces. The bevel display case is full! Stop in and see them all, you just might become a bevel lover too!

Good Morning, Glass Shop Friends!

A couple of things this morning...

1st - I will be closed Friday (tomorrow) and Saturday so I can spend some time with my mom before she heads back home.
2nd - Father's Day Gift Idea! I just finished this awesome patriotic stained glass heart suncatcher, yes, that is a beveled star in the middle! I only have one.

Good Morning, Glass Shop Friends!
The sunshine has been working its magic, and a few groovy new suncatchers have found their way into the shop.

The funny thing about stained glass is that I start with a pile of glass on my workbench, and somehow they turn into things that make people smile. It's kind of like gardening, except nothing needs watering, and I can't kill it accidentally. 😆
If you're out and about enjoying the beautiful summer day, stop in and say hello. I'd love to show you what's new, and who knows, you might just find a colorful new piece to take home with you.
Until then, enjoy the sunshine, listen to the birds, and don't forget to find joy in the simple things

Good Morning Friends. Last night’s storm was a rough one, and my heart goes out to everyone waking up to damage, cleanup, and the stress that comes after nights like that. Living in small towns means we all feel it when our neighbors are going through a hard time.
If the storm damaged any of your window screens, patio screens, or windows, please know I’m here to help however I can. Bring them in, and I’ll work hard to get them repaired and back to you as quickly as possible.
Take care of yourselves, check in on your neighbors, and hopefully, we all get a little sunshine and calmer days ahead soon.
