15% of the total day's food sales at Grande Station go straight to The Violet Bridge Foundation - supporting their Bridge Grant Program and their brand-new Family Navigation Program. 🙌🏻

Bridge Grant funds equipment, therapy, and services for kids when insurance runs out. Family Navigation helps parents make sense of Medicaid, waivers, and the gaps insurance doesn't cover - and they just served their first family.

We have gotten to know the people behind The Violet Bridge very well, and they are just phenomenal, genuinely GOOD people. They are a breath of fresh air. Our Legacy Ring partners are out in the community this month, and we're showing up with them. 🪙🫱🏻‍🫲🏻

Friends of Lackota Animal Sanctuary is the beneficiary of the 2026 Fort Collins Rotary Duck Race — and they receive 80% of the proceeds from every duck adopted on their behalf.🦆

FoLAS provides lifelong sanctuary to more than 150 rescued horses, donkeys, mules, and other animals who came from neglect, abuse, abandonment, and the slaughter pipeline. Feed and veterinary costs are their single biggest ongoing expense, and every duck helps cover it.

Today, we are proud and honored to announce Friends of Lackota Animal Sanctuary as SECRT LLC's newest Legacy Ring founding community partner - our fifth! Halfway to a full Ring! 🪙🐾💙🐎

Legacy Ring status is permanent. It never expires. Friends of Lackota (FoLAS) will always be recognized as one of our founding ten - on our website, in our materials, and at our annual community events.

FoLAS is run by Sam and Thom - two people who show up for the animals nobody else would take, and who've quickly become real friends of ours at SECRT, not just a partner organization. 🫂

In their own words:

"Friends of Lackota Animal Sanctuary is a Colorado 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to providing lifelong sanctuary, rehabilitation, and compassionate care for horses, donkeys, and mules rescued from neglect, abuse, abandonment, and the slaughter pipeline. Home to more than 150 total rescued animals, FoLAS believes every animal deserves safety, dignity, and the opportunity to live out the rest of its life surrounded by compassionate care."

What does FoLAS need most right now?

📣 Awareness, volunteers, and ongoing support for animal care. Veterinary and feed expenses are their largest ongoing cost. Donations are preferred via Zelle (970-817-0604). Checks and PayPal () are secondary options for donations.

As always, every completed SECRT client engagement includes a 3% give-back donation that our clients can direct right to FoLAS. 🪙🫱🏻‍🫲🏻

"Tap Out Barriers is dedicated to raising funds that provide youth and young adults access to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. We believe in the power of BJJ to transform lives and build confidence. Join us in our mission to break down barriers and create opportunities for young people to thrive through this incredible sport. Together, we can make a difference."

Isaac Sandoval started wrestling at three years old and competed until he was seventeen. Wrestling was the family language - his dad, his brothers, his cousins, his nephews, one of them in the Colorado Wrestling Hall of Fame. When his father was diagnosed with ALS and lost his mobility, Isaac found his way back to the mats through Jiu Jitsu, as a way to stay connected to that legacy and honor his dad's strength. He describes choosing movement as both a tribute and a promise: never to take for granted what others can no longer do.

Isaac founded Tap Out Barriers so other kids could have what the sport gave him. Drive. Discipline. Character.

Stacy Salazar, their Community Outreach Director, is a former MMA competitor and coach who raised her daughters in Colorado's MMA community and runs a construction company in an industry that wasn't built to make room for her. She works with young people who've been handed fewer opportunities than most, guided by a verse she keeps close: "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear."

What does Tap Out Barriers need most right now? Funding. Every dollar goes toward getting a kid on the mat who couldn't otherwise afford to be there.

Keep a lookout! They have an upcoming grappling tournament in partnership with ImpactBJJ with 25% of proceeds going to their cause as well as poker tournaments and more. 💪

Every completed SECRT client engagement sends 3% to a Colorado nonprofit chosen by our client, in their name. Tap Out Barriers is now on that list. Donations can also be made directly to TOB at https://www.tapoutbarriers.org/ and by check.

We recently asked a client what our first call felt like. This is what she said.

"That whole session left me feeling more capable instead of more overwhelmed, which is not how security usually makes me feel."

That sentence is the entire reason SECRT exists. This is our goal.

Most people we talk to have been made to feel stupid about technology at some point. Usually by someone who was supposed to be helping them. So they stop asking. They stop bringing it up.

And the gap gets bigger and quieter.

Nobody is born knowing this stuff. Not knowing yet isn't a character flaw. It's a gap, and gaps close.

We don't do scare tactics. We don't do jargon. We find your top three risks, we explain them in plain English, and we hand you proof of where you stand.
You should leave a security conversation feeling more capable. Not less. 🐾💙

Someone hands you a computer and tells you it's wiped. They believe that. They're usually wrong.

Erin's latest breaks down what actually happens when you "delete" a file: the system doesn't erase the data, it just removes the index entry pointing to it. The file is still sitting there, whole, until something else happens to overwrite that exact spot. Formatting does the same trick at a larger scale.

A free tool can pull deleted files, names, sizes, even the moment they were deleted — no lab required. Just an afternoon and a little curiosity.

Here's the question worth asking your own business: what happened to the last five machines you got rid of, and can anyone say what was on them? If you're a law firm, medical practice, or nonprofit, that's not housekeeping. It's the same duty you carry over the files still in your building — it just walked out the door.

Erin sat down to play a video game Friday night. She got locked out of her own VR headset instead, and it turned into a new article series. 😂 Nothing like real life inspiration!

The screen said "this device is managed by an organization." A factory reset didn't touch it, because the lock never lived on the device. It lives on a server, tied to a management account she can't remember creating and has no record of.

Here's the part that matters beyond one frustrating Friday evening: this happens to businesses constantly. A used laptop still enrolled in a former employer's system. A donated computer that boots to a stranger's account. A company that dissolves, leaving every device it ever managed bound to nobody.

The question worth asking: if your organization has enrolled devices in a management system, can you produce a list of them? And do you still control the account that manages them?
