My mom’s birthday recently passed.

It’s been almost two years since I lost her, and I still hear her voice in the little things...especially whenever The Wizard of Oz comes up. It was her favorite movie, and honestly, it’s packed with wisdom. She believed in brains, heart, courage, and always finding your way home.

✨ Just like Dorothy’s crew, every workplace needs a balanced team:
🧠 Scarecrow – Looking for smart solutions to tricky HR issues? We bring the brains to help you navigate compliance, policy, and strategy.
❤️ Tin Man – Need more heart in your workplace culture? We help foster empathy, engagement, and a people-first approach.
🦁 Cowardly Lion – Ready to tackle tough conversations or leadership challenges? We give your team the courage to lead with confidence.
👠 Dorothy – And when you're just trying to find your way home (aka organizational alignment), we’re here to guide you back with clarity and purpose.

No flying monkeys or tornadoes. 🌪️
Just experienced HR consultants who care. 💼✨
Let us help your business find its way to a better workplace.

We all meet a few yellow brick roads (and flying monkeys) in our careers. What’s a moment where you had to dig deep for brains, heart, or courage? I’d love to hear your story. 💬

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” - Ferris Bueller

Ferris wasn’t just talking about skipping school. He was accidentally giving leadership advice.

Life does move fast. So do meetings, metrics, and Monday morning chaos. But if leaders don't slow down for check-ins, feedback, or even a little recognition, they miss the heartbeat of their team.

Engagement isn't a once-a-year survey. It's built in the everyday moments. The quick "how are you really?" The "that was a great save." The space leaders make to actually see their people.

When my daughter joined me at work during a college internship, I watched her light up after a manager said, “You’re not just doing a great job. You're making a real difference.” It wasn’t about praise, it was about being seen. And in that moment, I saw a future leader being built.

At SuperHuman Resources, we teach leaders to pause long enough to connect. Because that’s where retention lives. And let’s be honest, so does culture, trust, and performance.

🎥 “You can’t handle the truth!”

That line hits a little too close to home in some leadership meetings.

Everyone says they want honest feedback.
Until the engagement survey comes in.
Until the 360 results hit their inbox.
Until someone finally says out loud what the rest of the team has been whispering for months.

The truth is, feedback is not the problem.
The problem is when ego, defensiveness, or fear get in the way of actually listening.

High-performing teams are not built on silence or sugar-coating.
They are built on cultures where the truth is not just tolerated but welcomed...even when it stings.

I work with leadership teams to build that muscle.
The courage to listen.
The clarity to act.
The emotional maturity to grow.

Because feedback is not failure.
It is a gift. And your culture depends on how you receive it.

When was a time honest feedback actually changed something at work? Let’s talk about the good, the bad, and the brave.

🎥 “By all means, move at a glacial pace. You know how that thrills me.”

That line, dripping in sarcasm from Miranda Priestly, perfectly captures the frustration of dealing with anything unnecessarily slow.
Especially hiring.

We’ve all seen it. Four rounds of interviews, a panel presentation, a surprise “culture fit” call, and then silence for two weeks while decision-makers try to align.

Let’s be real. In today’s job market, your hiring process is your brand.
If it moves at a glacial pace, you are not thrilling candidates. You are losing them.

Great people are not sitting around waiting. They are forming opinions about your leadership, clarity, and internal chaos with every step.

Hiring does not need to be rushed, but it should be intentional and respectful of everyone’s time.
Slow, disorganized processes are not thorough. They are a turnoff.

What is the most absurd delay or unnecessary step you have seen in a hiring process? Share your story in the comments. I am ready for the popcorn. 🍿

“I carried a watermelon.”

One of the most awkward, endearing movie lines ever.
And honestly? I think of it every time I help a new leader step into their role.

Because leadership doesn’t always start with grace and confidence. Sometimes it starts with self-doubt, overexplaining, and hoping nobody notices your sweaty palms.

But you show up anyway.
You carry the watermelon.
You learn the moves.

And eventually, you become the one others look to when they’re just getting started.

That’s the magic of growth.
And that’s what I help leaders and companies do:
Start somewhere.
Learn the steps.
Build something incredible.

(And if we laugh a little awkwardly along the way, even better!)

👉 So tell me:
What was your “I carried a watermelon” moment?
Bonus points if it still makes you cringe a little.

💬 “Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality.” – Warren Bennis

I love this quote because it strips leadership down to its essence.
It’s not about titles, buzzwords, or endless strategy decks.
It’s about turning an idea into something people can see, feel, and experience every day.

Years ago, I stepped into a company with no HR infrastructure, just a lot of great people stuck in survival mode. I had a vision: build a culture rooted in trust, clarity, and growth.

It took time, persistence, and more than a few tough conversations. But slowly, the vision came to life. We built systems. We empowered leaders. We created a workplace people were proud to be part of.

At SuperHuman Resources, this is the work we do. We help leaders turn chaos into strategy and “someday” into something sustainable.

If you’ve got a vision, we’ll help you make it real.

Ever wish you had a second brain to help untangle the people stuff?

A client recently said:
"Really appreciate all of your work on this. Definitely did the heavy thinking and made my input more meaningful."

That’s what we aim for. Not just to support, but to elevate your thinking, your team, and your business.

When you’re leading a growing company, the people challenges pile up fast. You’re making decisions in real time, juggling risk, culture, and capacity. You’re not just running a business. You’re managing humans with emotions, expectations, and complexity.

If any of these sound familiar, you're not alone. Here's what we help solve:

• Compliance Risk
Are we legally compliant, or one step away from a lawsuit?
We keep you protected so you can lead with confidence, not guesswork.

• Low Morale
Is it burnout, disengagement, or something deeper?
We uncover the root cause and rebuild a culture people want to be part of.

• Turnover
Why do my best people keep leaving?
We help you create a place they’re proud to stay.

• Hiring Overwhelm
I need help but don’t have time to read 100 resumes.
We bring you qualified candidates that actually fit.

• People Drama
I’m not an HR referee, but here I am.
We step in to resolve conflict and align your policies with your values.

• Org Chaos
My org chart looks like a spaghetti diagram.
We create clarity, structure, and accountability across the board.

• Leadership Gaps
My managers are struggling and it’s starting to show.
We train and coach them to lead with impact and integrity.

• Comp Confusion
Are we paying fairly or setting ourselves up for turnover?
We build pay strategies that are competitive and sustainable.

• Performance Issues
How do I address underperformance without crossing a line?
We handle documentation, coaching plans, and tough calls when needed.

• System Gaps
My HR is duct-taped together with spreadsheets.
We implement systems that save time, reduce risk, and scale with you.

The truth is, you don’t have to figure all of this out on your own.

If your people strategy feels messy, let’s clean it up.

“Before you are a leader, success is all about growing yourself. When you become a leader, success is all about growing others.” – Jack Welch

Every time I read this quote, it reminds me why I do what I do.

Leadership isn’t about titles or tenure. It’s about impact.

It’s about knowing when to speak up and when to hold space. When to challenge someone, and when to remind them they’re doing just fine.

It’s about growing people, not just businesses.

I’ve seen firsthand how the right kind of leadership can change lives, shift culture, and turn chaos into calm. I’ve also seen the opposite.

If you’re leading people today, here’s your gentle reminder: their growth is part of your job description. (Even if it never made it onto paper.)

If your team only brings you the good news, you don’t have a performance issue. You have a trust issue.

Think about it.

When people don’t feel safe, they hide mistakes.
They downplay problems.
They nod and smile instead of speaking up.

As a leader, I don’t want perfect. I want honest. I’d rather hear “we screwed up” than “we didn’t say anything because we weren’t sure how you’d react.”

Psychological safety isn’t just a nice idea. It’s the foundation for real progress. It’s how teams grow, innovate, and take ownership.

So if you say you want feedback, show it.
If you say your door is open, prove it.
If you say you care about culture, let people see it in your actions.

Trust isn’t a soft skill. It’s the real work of leadership.

Want your team to be accountable? Start by being approachable.

When in doubt, ask yourself:
Would your team rather bring you a mistake or sweep it under the rug and hope you don’t notice?

What’s something you’ve done to build trust with your team lately?

Nobody really warns you that growing a business can start to feel like losing yourself in it.

You hit the goals.
You make the hires.
You do all the things you were told would make it easier…

But it doesn’t always feel easier, does it?

Instead, your time gets eaten alive by decisions you didn’t see coming. People challenges. Leadership gaps. Culture shifts. And that nagging feeling that you’re the glue holding it all together.

If you’re feeling that today, you’re not doing it wrong.

You’re just in a season that calls for more clarity, stronger boundaries, and support you can actually trust.

Here’s the good news. This part doesn’t last forever.
With the right tools and guidance, it gets better. It gets lighter. And you get to lead with more ease.

You don’t have to white-knuckle your way through growth.

There’s a better way to lead, and I’d love to help you find it.

If you're navigating this season and want to talk it through, send me a message. Sometimes the next right step is just having a real conversation.
