In July 1966 I started my career as a young working wife and mom. Things were much, much different then. Today, 54 years later, I remain engaged and involved with the escrow settlement and allied industries. I have been taking a bit of a Susan Reiman Group social media break over the past couple of years as I focused on my work in cross-industry digital transformation, along with creating digital closing awareness materials. Learning of the death of the Notorious RBG on Friday, and now reading this excellent piece by Michele Gorman in Law360, I felt compelled to add my voice to those of other females acknowledging the role Ruth Bader Ginsburg played in our lives. Thank you, Justice Ginsburg. Truly a North Star for all women.

Female attorneys around the country say they're devastated by the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a woman they looked to as a role model for candidly speaking out about the struggles she faced as a female lawyer integrating her work and family life, which made her a relatable icon.

January 1, 2019 - Happy New Year! If you're like me, you're still trying to figure out where 2018 went. The last half of the year presented many more opportunities for me to listen, learn, and connect even more dots! I will be continuing to reflect on those opportunities in the upcoming weeks and will share some of my experiences with you here. In the meantime, here's a reminder of our 10 "T" Theory, talking points for transformation created in 2007 yet even more valid coming into 2019. As we continue to say, "As much as things change, they remain the same." Digital transformation is definitely changing the escrow settlement industry. Have you joined the conversations?

July 6, 2016. Thank you all for your 50th Anniversary Likes and Comments. We have had an amazing history together and I want to start sharing with you some insights I have learned along the way that are as true today as they have been over the past five decades. I feel it is critical for escrow settlement professionals to be aware of the many business changes now and anticipated in the years ahead. The "how" is constantly changing, and we all know it's still a people business. Transformation is the mandate of the day and I want to share some tips and tools with you to help you through whatever transformation you feel you need in order to remain relevant and productive in the near future.

Those who have known me over the years know I love to tell stories. And I have plenty of them to tell! Here is the first of my "Top 10 Tips" that I have curated from my work, which I am still actively engaged in and passionate about! My "Top 10" will not necessarily be in order. This blog is happening a bit organically, so we will fine tune along the way. Want to hear more stories or have questions about Leveraging, Learning & Letting Go? April 10, 2018. Happy 50th Anniversary of the Fair Housing Act - April 11, 1968. This outreach of the National Association of REALTORS® spoke directly to me as I began my career in the real estate and related industries in July 1966 and can truly "remember when..." I am also reminded of my mantra during my tenure on the boards of the Oregon Escrow Council and American Escrow Association ... "Catch the Vision: Education Awareness Growth." Fast forward to 2018 as I, as well as the industry I dearly love, continue to evolve. Today, I find myself asking the question: "How can I best "live into" and share my 10 T Theory of Transformation?" The 10 T's ... Terminology. Tasks. Timing. Tradition. Tests. Team. Technology. Talent. Training. Transparency. "Catch the Vision, let its light come shining through. Together we can make a difference, it all begins with[in] me and you." sjreiman (late 1980s). Truly stronger together!
