What do AI-generated event posters take away from a business? You may be asking, " What's the big deal?"
Here is a list of just a few things it can do for you:

1. Creates a similarity in each post that ends up getting ignored.

The idea behind posting is to catch the customer's eye. Using these AI prompts for every single post trains customers to ignore them by blending in with all of your other posts AND other businesses' posts.

2. You lose customers or annoy them.

Granted, this is a subjective topic, but AI is hyperpolarized. Some people love it, some people hate it. Neither is right nor wrong. Given this fact, using it can drive away customers just because they don't like it being used. Some customers can even find it lazy to use it.

3. Your brand identity disappears.

A large part of any successful business is the brand. Using AI-generated posts all the time washes the brand away. Your logo is tied to the business. The community, events, food, locations, workers, and everything are tied to the brand. AI doesn't give you any of that. Do you have weekly events? Great, take pictures, use them in the post to show it's real and fun. Don't use AI-generated garbage to sink your own ship. Always include your logo, and keep the same font. Those are recognizable assets to your business. The M for McDonald's almost never changes. That's because it has become recognizable. Those marketing tactics are not reserved for big companies. They work for all businesses.

AI has its place and should be used in moderation and wisely. Not for every post and not to unintentionally subvert your own brand.

You've probably seen this type of AI generated image for events or whatever on Facebook. I can tell you that if you are a SMB owner you have an opportunity to stand out right now by being authentic. Do NOT use this type of AI slop.
1. You're a small business, local appeal is critical and this is a negative to a lot of people.
2. You blend right in with every other business doing this.
3. It can seem lazy to some, but a lot of us understand budgets and time constraints.

Here is what you should be doing:
1. Build a system/workflow for posting. This keeps it simple and repeatable, that means easier to replicate.
2. Schedule your posts and topics ahead of time. Stop posting last minute. This gives you time to create and to be thorough.
3. Use tools that make it easy, you don't need a specialized employee or an agency like me to do this. Canva is the perfect tool for this.

Stop blending in and stand out instead!

I was hanging out with some friends the other day, and one of them is a business owner. We talked a bit about his work, and he mentioned that he did some OTT marketing (think advertising on Hulu/Amazon/etc.) and didn't get any return on it, and spent waaay too much money. I asked him about how it was tracked, and he wasn't sure. Then he mentioned how he took that video and used it on TikTok (good idea) and got a lot of views; he was shocked. I asked him who did it for him, and he said himself.

He didn't track anything. How could he know how to do that?

He had no way of knowing if his money was well spent.

But he was happy with the views he received from TikTok. I feel like there is an entire world out there that just doesn't know. Imagine tracking your advertising, managing that budget precisely, and focusing on what is winning.

I wanted to be like, "Bro, you gotta track that stuff. You could be dumping money down the drain. Let me help you."

Everyone talks about hiring more people to grow their business. Most businesses haven’t even used what they already have. Your Google Business Profile is sitting there. Your website is just sitting there. Both are supposed to be bringing you customers.
But:
No recent reviews
No clear next step
No tracking
So nothing happens. You don’t need more tools. You need to actually use the ones already working for you 24/7.

I searched a local business by name today. Not a category search. Not “near me.” Their exact business name.
And this is what showed up:
👉 No Google Business Profile
👉 No map listing
👉 No reviews
👉 Just a website
That blank space on the right side of Google? That’s where trust lives. When someone searches your business name, they’re not discovering you—they’re validating you. And if there’s nothing there, it creates doubt instantly:
“Are they legit?”
“Are they still in business?”
“Should I keep looking?”
A Google Business Profile isn’t optional. It’s your first impression, your credibility, and often your conversion point.
The wild part?
This is one of the easiest things to fix—and one of the highest-impact.
If your business doesn’t show up when someone searches your name, you don’t just have a visibility problem…
You have a trust problem.
