With signs of spring rapidly increasing, that means it was time for the annual Fancher Supervisor pancake breakfast!

This tradition has been going on close to 10 years now! The supervisors come together and make pancakes for the entire shop. This is just a small token of appreciation for all our employees do! We are wrapping up a very busy 1st quarter of 2025, so it was nice to take a quick break and eat some pancakes and fellowship together as a whole! Thank you to all who cooked our breakfast, and to the company for hosting this event! Most importantly, thanks to all our employees who work diligently to get our product out the door! Much appreciated!

Fancher Chair Company is in need of sewers to work at our upholstery shop. This is a full time position with benefits included! Pay is based off of experience, but even if you have some knowledge Fancher will provide on the job training! The company is a 125,000 square foot wood working facility with about 125 employees. We are located in Western NY with excellent access to all the major hardwood species and competitive shipping to most metropolitan areas.

Last month we celebrated the retirement of another one of our great workers! Dan Smith retired after working here for the last 31 years. Dan spent the vast majority of his time in our Cornerblock department, but he also helped with shipping and receiving for a few years, helped in our rough mill running machines and even worked 2nd shift for a short stint! If you have a wooden chair, flip it over, and look under the chair and you’ll see these little blocks that connect the rails together. (On the vast majority of chairs) those are the Cornerblocks. They are something so simple, but also so vital to the strength of the chair. They are small, and often have many screw holes in them. Dan did a fantastic job making these blocks for us for years, and making sure they were done correctly, and efficiently. Holding on to that little block on the saw, boring machine and sander, sounds easier than it is in all reality.

Dan made a LOT of Cornerblocks for Fancher Chair in his time year. Based off of some VERY rough estimates, we can see that Dan easily made 10,000,000 Cornerblocks in his time here. You read that right, 10 million, and truthfully, that’s on the low side of our estimate!

Congratulations Dan on a well deserved retirement! Enjoy every minute, thanks for all you did for the company!

Two weeks ago the company celebrated the retirement of another wonderful employee! Mary Gay started here 4 years ago, and was a wonderful addition to our company! We always hate to see a great worker leave, but we couldn’t be happier for her to enjoy her retirement. In true Fancher fashion she was gifted a chair, and we had cake to celebrate. We also had an employee make her a keepsake box out of excess material we had and laser engraved it for her! Best of luck to Mary in her retirement!

On Wednesday July 3rd, Fancher Chair celebrated the retirement of longtime employee Barb Miller as well as hosting our annual 4th of July chicken barbecue for the entire factory. (Shoutout to Basil & Bones! They had fantastic food, and even brought it right to the factory!)

Barb is retiring after working 18 years at Fancher Chair. Barb worked in our upholstery department and was responsible for doing all the webbing on our chairs that got that style seat/back. Barb will be greatly missed! She always had a smile on her face as she worked away in her corner of the factory! We wish her all the best in her well deserved retirement! Barb was gifted this gorgeous rocker in true Fancher fashion! Thanks for all the years of hard work, and dedication Barb! Be sure to stop in and say Hi to us!

Last Friday, the company gathered to celebrate the retirement of longtime employee Sue Thompson. Sue retired in May after working here for 39 years! We appreciate all Sue has done for the company over these past years and we will miss her hard work ethic and contagious smile. We wish her all the best in her retirement!

In true Fancher fashion, Sue was gifted a beautiful rocker to spend her time in! Congratulations Sue, thank you for your 39 years of service to the company, and enjoy your much deserved retirement!

This past Wednesday we had our annual employee appreciation pancake breakfast! All the supervisors cook breakfast to show a small token of how much we appreciate our employees! Fancher has some fantastic longevity among our employees. We have some employees who have been here 25 years or more! We are so grateful for all our employees who do so much to help make some beautiful furniture. Every person has a very important role in a big operation! Thanks for all you do Fancher Team!!!

This past Monday, the company gathered to celebrate the retirement of longtime employee Vicky Meneo. Vicky retired this past January after 37 faithful years at Fancher Chair! We so greatly appreciate all Vicky has done for the company and we will certainly miss her. We wish her all the best in her retirement!

In true Fancher fashion, Vicky was gifted a beautiful rocker that was laser engraved to commemorate her years of service as well as a laser engraved photo of her and the finish department where she spent most of her 37 years! Congratulations Vicky, and enjoy your much deserved retirement!

Update: I can’t believe I forgot to include this statistic! Based off of production reports, and stats over Vicky’s 37 years here, it is estimated she was involved in the finishing process of over 1.7 million chairs during her time here! Way to go Vicki!

Fancher Chair is hiring the following positions:

To apply, please fill out an application on our website (link is in the comments) or stop down to the factory and get an application. Wages vary from minimum wage to over $30/hour depending on position and experience. All positions are 40 hours/week with opportunities for overtime.

Machine Operators- 2 open positions
- Set up and operate machinery included but not limited to; saws, routers, shapers, and CNC machines(training provided as needed)
- Perform Periodic quality checks on parts and make sure they are correct
- Work with others to make sure equipment is in proper working order
- Observe and follow company safety rules and regulations.
- Pay based off of experience
CNC Programmer/CAD Draftsmen- 1 open position
- Set up 5 axis and 3 axis CNC Machines (on-site training provided)
- SolidWorks or equal 3D Modeling experience required
- Troubleshoot and resolve machinery problems as they arise
- Pay based off of experience
Upholsterer/Sewer - 1 open position
- Cutting/sewing/fitting materials of fabric & leather
- Prior Upholstery experience a plus
- Training available
- Pay based off of experience
Packager - 1 open position
- Inspect final product before boxing
- Pack, weigh, and label products for final shipment
- Help load trucks as needed
- Forklift experience a plus(can train applicant if they don’t have forklift experience)
- Pay based off of experience
CDL Truck Driver - 1 open position
- Must possess CDL License
- Local/in town runs daily
- May have 1-2 trips per month that are usually 1 overnight stay
- Will assist with packing department when not in the truck
- Pay based off of experience
