Rome's next luxury hotel has some very good bones: Archaeologists said Wednesday that the ruins of Nero's Theater, an imperial theater referred to in ancient Roman texts but never found, have been discovered under the garden of a future Four Seasons Hotel steps from the Vatican.

Salve! Did you know that stories of the past can be found on ancient Roman gemstones?🏛💎

Last year, New Roman Creative helped sponsor an exhibition on ancient engraved gemstones at the Michael C. Carlos Museum. I believe learning about history empowers us as individuals and as a society, and it was incredible to see the universal stories and myths depicted on these beautiful little stones.

Here I am on opening day with Ruth Allen, curator of Greek and Roman art, who brought this exhibition to life. 🙌

We are thrilled to be sponsoring "Making an Impression: The Art and Craft of Ancient Engraved Gemstones" -- now on view through November 27 at the Michael C. Carlos Museum. 💎

This exhibition draws on the museum’s vast collection of Greek and Roman gems, the majority of which have never been displayed publicly. The carved semi-precious stones depict gods, emperors, animals, characters from myth, and more.

Happy 🏛

Today we celebrate the legendary founding of Rome on April 21st, 753 BCE. As the story goes, the twins Romulus and Remus were abandoned at birth and rescued by a she-wolf. Romulus eventually founded Rome on the site of the wolf’s cave.

You can visit this historic place today on the Palatine Hill. Our first trip was nearly 20 years (and many epic stories) ago!
