It's been a time of massive PIVOTS. If there was ever a time to practice what I "preach"... this is it. In addition to moving back across the country, a younger son starting 5th grade TODAY, an older son starting SENIOR year... (!!!?) after 15+ years, as an interfaith officiant, Seventh Sense Weddings & Events: unique, interfaith ceremonies & counseling is now focusing on supporting those of you who would like a friend or family member to officiate!....
(I am still available to officiate occasional specialized multicultural and/or bilingual ceremonies ...)

it may seem counterintuitive, but sometimes we need to be reminded that we can’t control everyone or everything else. In fact the only thing we can really control is ourselves -and often ,most importantly, our perspective.
Here’s my challenge to you today: what is one thing that you can either let go of controlling in others or decide consciously to build into your own day that will nourish YOUR joy?

Do you love your person dearly but sometimes just can’t figure out why you just don’t seem to hear or understand each other?
Sometimes premarital counseling or relationship coaching isn’t about fixing “issues“ – sessions can just help you see and understand each other in a way that can help you both feel more deeply heard and appreciated.

Relationship experts John Gottman and his team ( ) found that couples need to exhibit just over FIVE positives to balance out each negative or critical remark from their partners.😲
If your partner ever remarks that you are always complaining or criticising and you feel that’s unfair because you say at least as many positives as negatives, chances are you’re both right!

Interestingly, a study by the Harvard business review found an almost identical statistic applies in the work environment. 📈
The antidote? Pledge to tell your partner at least three things you appreciate about him or her each day ✅💗✅

Working for yourself can be a rollercoaster for sure. I wouldn’t trade it for an instant and count my blessings daily to do all three businesses that fulfill me : officiating and premarital counseling through .dawn , non traditional career coaching to help others navigate their true path and relationship coaching for couples at all stages . But it can also be incredibly isolating and overwhelming at times.. so sometimes I get a little dressed up, grab my favorite coffee in one of my favorite spots for working and community building , the ☀️ pops out in all its beautiful fickleness, and I feel better. 💗
