July is HOT…especially in Georgia’s prisons. I suspect these corrections officers would like a repeat of the Ice Water Bucket Brigade. This team building challenge was lots of fun. It’s amazing how competitive they were…even while being drenched with COLD water. They learned important lessons on planning, strategy, tactics, and effective communication.

How time flies…and changes things. In-person training and no worries about COVID seems like distant memories, but “normal” really wasn’t that long ago. Watching how training providers pivot and adapt continues to be interesting. The industry may never be the same.

Orchestrating something new is one of the joys of project/program management. Though I am looking back a few years, it still brings great satisfaction. Jennifer Berry, UGA’s “Bee Lady” and Research Leader at the Bee Lab and I had just signed the contract for the Georgia Beekeeping Prison Program. It continues to have a positive impact on the lives of returning citizens and our communities. Just because it’s never been done before doesn’t mean it’s impossible.
