We usually associate phishing with suspicious emails, but scammers have plenty of other ways to reach us.
A fake package-delivery text is smishing.
A caller pretending to be your bank or IT department is vishing.
A QR code that sends you to a fake website is quishing.
Different method, same goal: convince you to act before you have time to think.
If something feels urgent or unusual, don’t click, scan, pay, or share sensitive information right away. Verify the request using a phone number, website, app, or contact method you already trust.
This week’s PVInfoSec security awareness topic covers these other forms of phishing and the simple habits that can help you spot them.
