Learn more about recent findings reflecting the multigenerational impact of 529s, tax-advantaged plans designed to help families save for college.

In 1996, federal legislation paved the way for states to offer 529 accounts — tax advantaged plans that allow families to save thousands of dollars for college. The investment accounts – now at 17 million with nearly $627 billion in assets – have transitioned from solely a college savings tool...

The bond market doesn’t usually get the same attention as the stock market- but it can tell us a lot about what investors are worried about.

Articles like this are also a good reminder that diversification isn’t simply “own some stocks and some bonds.” Interest rates, inflation, taxes, time horizon and the role each asset plays all matter.

You don’t have to predict what the economy will do next. You do need a financial plan designed to work through more than one kind of market.

That’s a big part of the planning conversations I have with my clients.

The bond market is signaling trouble ahead. This is why you should pay attention

This story is such an important reminder that leaving a legacy is about more than deciding who gets what.

Whether it’s a family business, investments, real estate, or something as valuable as the Lakers, the real planning questions are often: How will it be managed? Who will make decisions? What happens when family members disagree?

Good planning isn’t just about transferring wealth. It’s about thinking through what happens after the transfer- and hopefully helping protect both the assets and the relationships that matter most.

These are exactly the kinds of conversations I help families and business owners start before they become urgent.

Jerry Buss wanted his children to run the Lakers after he was gone. How sad he would be to see what his prized possession has done to the people he cherished.

Life insurance is that boring-but-crucial thing you really need to get now so that your family doesn't have to launch a GoFundMe when you're gone.

Life insurance is that boring-but-crucial thing you really need to get now so that your family doesn't have to launch a GoFundMe when you're gone. Also, that small policy from work? It's like a snack, not a whole dinner.
