Fort Pierce commissioners have unanimously approved a 1.1 million square foot refrigerated Amazon warehouse on Kings Highway, marking one of the city's largest economic development projects to date.

The $240 million facility will bring an estimated 745 permanent jobs in its first phase, with the possibility of reaching up to 1,200 jobs if a second phase is approved. The developer is also funding $4.2 million in road improvements, including upgrades to Kings Highway and a full rebuild of White Road.

This project is expected to have a significant impact on St. Lucie County and the broader Treasure Coast region.
