Less than two weeks after installing their new native plant pollinator garden, the monarchs have already found the native plant pollinator garden at the White Settlement Historic Museum!

Right now, monarch butterflies are migrating south through North Texas on their incredible fall journey to the mountains of Mexico. People are spotting them by the dozens as they stop to refuel on native blooms.

Take a few minutes outside this week to look up and around. You just might catch a glimpse of these beautiful travelers.

If you’ve been thinking about starting your own pollinator garden, NatureLinks can help! We offer guidance on planning, design, plant selection, and maintenance to help you create a thriving, wildlife-friendly landscape.

Yesterday I attended the Texan by Nature Future of Conservation Summit, where leaders from across industry, community, and conservation came together to discuss actionable ways to accelerate sustainability progress in Texas and beyond.

As the 10th largest economy in the world, Texas is powered by industries that depend on our land, water, and natural resources. With that scale comes big influence and responsibility to take the same pride that drives our economy and apply it toward sustainable, forward-thinking decisions that ensure a thriving future for our state.

The summit explored how organizations can move from inspiration to measurable impact by setting clear, defensible goals to evaluating partnerships, monitoring progress, and reporting results with transparency.

For NatureLinks Consulting, these insights are invaluable. Our clients and partners benefit directly from the evolving best practices shared here, including data-driven project evaluation, collaborative frameworks, and strategies that connect ecological health with operational success.

Events like this reaffirm our mission: to help communities, municipalities, and organizations design conservation initiatives that not only restore habitat and improve resiliency but also deliver tangible, trackable outcomes.

Grateful to Texan by Nature for continuing to unite Texas voices in shaping a sustainable future and for the opportunity to learn, connect, and bring these tools back to our projects across North Texas. 💚

Today, NatureLinks had the joy of installing a new native plant garden at the White Settlement Historical Museum!

We were honored to help the museum obtain a Bring Back the Monarch to Texas grant and to guide them through every step of the process from design to planting and planning for long-term care.

The new garden offers visitors a glimpse of the native prairie plants that once flourished across our region, right alongside the museum’s historic log cabins and wagons. It’s a beautiful blend of natural and cultural heritage, a reminder that our landscapes hold stories just as rich as the artifacts inside.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring this project to life. Together, we’re reconnecting people, places, and pollinators, one garden at a time.
